1 Overview

This document describes the new functionality included in the Desigo V6.0 Service Pack:
 The new TX Open Module, i.e. TXI2.OPEN replaces the TXI1.OPEN and offers extended
functionality.
 The CAS library extensions 2 provides enhancements as well as improved usability and
engineering efficiency.
 As part of room automation, the Desigo V6.0 Service Pack includes two new compact DXR2 room
automation stations. Extensions to the existing application types fan coil unit, fan-powered box
and variable air volume include chilled beam applications. The engineering tools were also
improved.
 Serviceability has been improved as well as the interface to the Desigo documentation collection.

2 New TX Open module

The new TX Open module TXI2.OPEN is introduced as part of Desigo V6.0 SP

to replace the current TXI1.OPEN.

New or extended functions versus TXI1.OPEN:

• TXI2.OPEN supports up to 160 data points
• TXI2.OPEN includes two Ethernet interfaces for engineering, remote
access and diagnostics. The interfaces can also be used for daisy chain

• Modbus (e.g. G120P, Wilo pumps, other third-party devices)
• M-bus
• GENIbus
• USS (G120P, SED2)

A TXI2.OPEN can be used like a TXI1.OPEN in compatibility mode. This allows it to use existing projects
that already have installed PX firmware (V4.1, V5.0, V5.1 or V6.0) or replace defective TXI1.OPENs 1:1. Up
to 100 data points are supported in compatibility mode, there is no remote access.

XWP V6.0 or V6.0 SP (recommended) required for engineering. In XWP, the workflow online helps are
integrated for TXI2.OPEN.

The ongoing collection of suggested improvements from the field were prioritized and implemented as
part of "CAS Library Extension 2" . They are now introduced as part of Desigo V6.0 Service Pack as an
extension to the current CAS Library for Desigo PX.

The benefits include:

 Functionality additions & enhancements to existing CAS library
 Improved usability
 Tested application additions & enhancements, means no prototyping on site
 Improved quality and engineering efficiency
 Fully documented

The extension can be used with

 Desigo PX >= V6.0 SP
 Desigo Insight >= V6.0 SP
 Desigo CC V2.1 >= SR4

Summary CAS Library Extension 2

Overview:
The following was harmonized, extended and enhanced:

1. Harmonization
 Plant operation – every plant with soft& hardware switches and operating mode indication
OpModSel, OpModMan, OpModSwi, PrOpMod and RsPrOpMod)
 Every plant with delay after power restoration (DlyPwrRtr)
 Improvement of plant-switching-off behavior, caused by sensor disturbance (mixing circuits,
domestic hot water)
 All plants are equipped with trends
 Same „Look and Feel“ in the CFC charts on plant level
2. Heating generation
 4 new burner (new family BuItf) and 5 new boiler compounds (new family BoItf)
 New StepUp/Down Logic (4 compounds) Note: The new compounds are also used in cooling
(criteria: integral, PID, delays).
 New plant with up to 8 boilers (HGen30)

3. Heating distribution
 New mixing circuit (MxCrt30) for direct room control
 New heating group (HGrp12) for direct room control (simplified HGrp15, but with optional
OSSC and with MxCrt30)
4. Electrical
 Electro panel (with alarm function and electrical data-points)
 Weather station (for conventional data-points, 0-10V, 4-20mA, etc.)
 Electrical trace heating
5. Alarming
 Changed names for better understanding: AlmItfIn1…8, AlmItfOut, RstItfIn, RstItfOut
 New alarming compound for top-level plants, superior alarm (SprAlm)
 Optional logic for acknowledge and reset (3x) after power restoration
6. Minor changes & defects have been solved

4 Room automation - Desigo V6.0 Service Pack

Desigo room automation was further developed and improved with Desigo V6.0 Service Pack. The
sections below outlines the latest improvements:
 Extension to the Desigo Room Automation standard portfolio with additional room automation
stations
 Functional extensions to configurable applications for use with ABT Site
 Improvements of tools

4.1 New compact DXR2 room automation stations

The Desigo room automation portfolio was extended to the room

automation stations DXR2.E12PX.
The new controller can automate lighting and shading with an
increased number of data points.

The new room automation stations correspond to the existing

controller variants DXR2.E12P. They only have a larger number of
usable data points that can be engineered in the ABT Pro tool.

The hardware specification corresponds to the existing room

automation stations DXR2..12P. The new DXR2 variants are also the
same with regard to the application types used to date.

BACnet/IP are available for system communications. *

* The DXR2.M.. Room Automation stations with BACnet MS/TP are not available in Europe.

Desigo CC V2.1 SR4 supports the new room automation stations DXR2.E12PX. Desigo Insight does not
support the new types.

UI (Universal Input) supports: DI (Digital Input for HVAC only) – as well as LG-NI1000, PT1000, 0..10V,
NTC 100k, NTC 3k, NTC 10k.
All DXR2.E.. have internal KNX PL-Link bus power (AC 24 V 50 mA), a bus length of up to 80 meters, and
an additional USB interface for tooling.

4.2 Application extensions

The Desigo application library for room automation has been extended with:

 Passive chilled beam in all applications (Fan Coil Unit, Variable Air
Volume and Fan Powered Box)
 Active chilled beam in all applications (Fan Coil Unit, Variable Air Volume
and Fan Powered Box)
 Dew point calculation for all cooling applications including coordination
with central function for chilled water supply

All features are configurable in ABT Site and programmable in ABT Pro for DXR2
and PXC3.

4.3 Engineering tools
4.3.1 Desigo Tools
XWP V6.0 SP focuses on maintaining existing functionality while
improving quality.
New features:
 XWP supports extended text scopes: This enables HQ, RCs and CoC
(Centers of Competence) to create libraries with different
languages. This feature was the main driver behind project
conversion from V6.0 to V6.0 SP. The V6.0 tool must be used after
converting the project.
Benefits
 High quality and stability due to bug fixes
Information
 BOS server doesn’t need to be updated
 HQ support the latest released tool version (currently V6.0 SP), and
its predecessor (currently V6.0).
4.3.2 Desigo Room Automation tools
ABT V6.0 SP focused on improving quality and some areas of ABT Pro
and ABT Site. ABT V6.0 SP and ABT V6.0 projects are compatible, i.e. you
do not need to convert the project. We recommend using the V6.0 SP
tools to convert V5.1 projects to V6.0.
New features:
 ABT Site: Improved usability, easier handling using templates
 More flexibility on project specific types: Allows S-mode devices and
QMX7
Benefits
 Improved usability and quality
 Improved coverage of project specific types for ABT Site. Project
specific types may contain KNX S-mode devices and QMX7 room
units.

4.4 Application selection in HIT
The application library for ABT Site includes 30 templates for fan coil, VAV,
chilled ceiling, radiator, fan-powered box and central function applications.
The 30 examples represent a broad palette of room applications. They can
be selected and modified in ABT Site.
In HIT, the appropriate template can be selected by using simple criteria.
There are application data sheets with descriptions, plant diagrams,
function diagrams, connection diagrams, and device lists available for
download for all of the 30 examples.

5 New user interface for Desigo document collection

A new user interface for the Desigo documentation is now available and includes the following features:
 Filter (Assortment, Document type, …)
 Sorting
 Download filtered files to a ZIP file
 Responsive design (scalable: PC – Tablet – Mobile)

The following enhancements were added to current functionality:

 Full text search
 Available both online and offline
The new interface is more user friendly which accelerates customer access to the relevant data.
