Procrastination is defined as putting off tasks that should be done. Many procrastinators don't feel they are doing it intentionally and think they tried to do the task but couldn't. However, their effort was often not enough. Procrastinators usually have excuses for why they put things off, such as being a perfectionist or lacking motivation. To overcome procrastination, people need to acknowledge their limitations and seek help completing tasks. They should also focus on improving past performance and specifically preparing for upcoming tasks to reduce anxiety. Lack of motivation may indicate a person has chosen the wrong career path and they need to reevaluate their situation.
