HFO
The HFO clutches Fig. 1 have been developed by Transfluid to Fig. 1
meet the growing market demand for power take offs applied to FIG. 1
high speed, high horsepower industrial engines and having Oil supply 25bar
Optional HFO
remote control operation.
SOFT START
HFOs consist of an oil actuated clutch assembly (dry plates) with
shaft and bearings suitable for high radial loads mounted in a
cast iron housing that provides for easy engine installation.
The oil actuation is provided by a rotating union mounted on the 3 way 2 posit. valve
shaft end allowing the oil to engage and disengage the clutch.
This system allows the use of HFO for belt driven applications only.
The oil actuation permits remote control as well as a larger
transmittable torque compared to the traditional overcenter PTOs. 25 bar
In addition, due to the continuous pressure applied to the clutch
plates, the HFO is a self adjusting clutch which drastically M
reduces the maintenance costs especially on heavy duty
applications where plate wear is typical.
Oil sump
Additional to the HFO is the HFF design (flanged shaft by QD).
This model was designed for road milling machines where a
compact layout is required.

HFU Optional
The HFU clutches have been designed to complete the SOFT START
TRANSFLUID range of power take offs for new potential
markets. The HFU is the in-line version providing the same HFU
technical performances as the HFO.
211
3 way 2 posit. valve 311
The oil actuation is provided by oil radial inlet instead of axial as
per HFO: this configuration permits the mounting of couplings
and/or cardan shafts on the output shaft.

HFU 211 - HFU 311
For sizes 211 and 311 the actuation oil is controlled externally M
and enters the clutch radially directly into the bearing carrier as
shown in Fig. 2; if an application max. oil temperature exceeds
120 °C, bearing lubrication can be forced type and achieved Oil sump
through an additional kit (see scheme).
211 and 311 have the same radial load capacity of HFO 211
(contact Transfluid).

HFU 314 - HFU 318 FIG. 3
For sizes 314 and 318 the actuation oil is controlled by the Optional P T
supplied solenoid valve located on the clutch (see Fig. 3) and Oil supply 25bar
SOFT START
enters radially directly into the bearing carrier.
314 and 318 are not suitable for belt driven application.
