UAE (UNITED ARAB EMIRATES)

Capital: Abu Dhabi
Population: 9.206 million (2012)
The United Arab Emirates is a constitutional federation of seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai,
Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Qaiwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah. The federation was formally
established on 2 December 1971.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) occupies an area of 83,600 sq km along the south-eastern tip of
the Arabian Peninsula. Qatar lies to the west, Saudi Arabia to the south and west, and Oman to
the north and east.

Four-fifths of the UAE is desert, yet it is a country of contrasting landscapes, from awe-inspiring
dunes to rich oases, precipitous Rocky Mountains to fertile plains.
The United Arab Emirates, one of the world's fastest growing tourist destinations, has all the right
ingredients for an unforgettable holiday, sun, sand, sea, sports, unbeatable shopping, top-class
hotels and restaurants, an intriguing traditional culture, and a safe and welcoming environment.
It is a biggest commercial hub in Middle East for corporate sector and has lots of foreign
universities too.

In 2013, the Norway-based Global Network for Rights and Development (GNRD) released its
annual International Human Rights Indicator (IHRRI) report, ranking the United Arab Emirates first
among Arab countries and 14th globally for respecting human rights. The next Arab country on the
list, Tunisia, was ranked at 72. The UAE was ranked ahead of the United
States, Germany, France, and Ireland
No restriction on women on dress, driving & working. One of the Safest Country in world.
Though crimes are there ( like theft) but very less.
Better civic facilities by government.
Arabs has strong bias toward Asians as lower then them.whites and western qualified are
preferred

Mostly Sub continent Asians (Maximum), Arabs, Pilipino, African, European & Americans
Communities.
Languages: Arabic, English, Hindi, Urdu, French, German, philipino
UAE is tax free haven but there are yearly tax on vehicles, house & licenses
Costliest place to live in world

MEDICAL FIELD
Lots of Hospitals, polyclinics & clinics, most of them are part of chain ie group. Some are nicely
equipped some are not. Patients are insurance based partly and some cash only. So job in big
clinic means more insurance panel so more patients so easy to achieve your targets and get
incentives. Though bad reports about clinics ran by locals in term of job satisfaction not
everywhere but still people avoid and use that as last resort. Not all medicines are available here
so u have to understand you will have less medicines to choose from hardly any combinations,
enzymes and centrally acting painkillers. Less variety of dental materials than India.
There are Hospitals, polyclinics & clinics in two zones
1) LLC : most of Dubai & UAE , maximum places so maximum jobs. But 2 years labour contract
from your side after that one month notice but theirs liability is one month notice from first year
itself. so if leave before 2 years they will cut expenses of bringing you here from your salary
account or 1 month salary & gratuity, Centre can apply for ban but can get it removed by paying
fine of 5000. Mostly no bans on doctors or people earning over 12000 per month, so rare scenario

2) Free zone: small areas in Dubai & UAE, small no of places so small number of jobs jobs like
DHCC. It has its own license exam too. No 2 years labor contract only one month notice from your
& their side. No bans. Mostly prefer western educated

3) Government jobs rarely comes. Fixed pay no added % as private. But get accommodation and 5
working days. Continuous shift till 4 PM. But rarely promotion or raise.

48 hrs weekly working hours continuously or in break shifts ( 8-12/9-1 & 4-8/5-9) ie 8 hrs daily with
one day off. Initially not your choice, lots of females want straight shifts so they can go back by 4 &
do household chores but difficult to get. As hardly any patients from 1-4 P.M.
One is required to do CME ie conferences & requires points for renewal every year( 50 in HAAD:
25 from conferences free or paid+ 25 from self learning ie online webinars , 40 in DHA: 28 from
conferences free or paid+ 12 from self learning ie online webinars or non branch conferences.
Some conferences are free but most are paid entry, so costly & one requires leaves from office as
maximum education leave are 4 so by 1-2 conference one finishes all. So extra leave means
salary cut.

Remember patient prefer ethnicity here. Most Indian patient don’t take treatment as more in
saving mode or going back to country in some months so want treatment delayed till then.

UAE consists for 3 Health Authorities each has it group of Emirates

DHA/DOH:

JOB SEARCH:
Target Areas
 Hospitals: Regular n high pay but lot of work & less %.
 Polyclinics: avoid polyclinic with purely Arab owner. Otherwise best
 Dental Clinics: lowest pay until very famous or

Take trip to area, place CV & letter with your license exam result for a week minimum twice – thrice
a year.
Search on sites as Jobrapido, Trovit, GN jobs, Dubizzle, Gotogulf, indeed, Monster gulf,
Bayt, Staff in UAE & apply online from home weekly. First 5 are little worthwhile.
Some employers might take skype or telephonic interview then can go & meet.
Search Google for dental clinics in Dubai/UAE or check from insurance panel list of any
insurance based company in UAE in them search hospitals/clinics in that city. Then open hospital
site & apply on their sites in carrier/job option or mail your CV with eligibility letter in email you get
from their webpage or best thing is that one can call & ask to transfer it to HR & ask his official mail
id & mail it there.

Try from linkedin making profile and connections of HR in some hospitals or connections with
recruitement firms.
Main is VAASTA ie contact. If you have one at good level try
jobs are less. But so is saturation. It is target based industry here.

UAE TICKET:: 6000-15000 INR to & fro flight if taken 2 months prior otherwise 280000-30000 INR
for to & fro.
Air Arabia & Oman cheapest (but they go to Sharjah)
Visit Visa 5500-7500 INR/ month per person depending upon agent. Stay & expenditure for week
50000 INR are more than sufficient.

Other way, you take spouse & child on visit visa & get it convert here with in 60 days with fee of
650 AED extra over 2000 AED (done normal way as told above) for 2 years visa. But still they have
to go out of UAE & re enter again, so ticket expense extra. Method for this way is

1) Obtaining an entry permit: If you enter Dubai on a visit visa, you have to "convert" the visit visa
to an entry permit, as a visit visa cannot be used as the basis for a residence visa. The other
way is for Spouse has to obtain the entry permit The necessary documents for an entry permit
are: application form; 2 passport-size photographs; photocopy of own passport (photo page);
photocopy of husband's passport (photo page and residence permit page); photocopy of
authenticated marriage certificate; photocopy of husband's salary certificate issued by his
employer (check how long this is valid for as they are often of limited duration); photocopy of
Spouses E-Gate card; receipt for application form fee. (The E-Gate card can be obtained at the
same office where you file your application.) Don't forget both passports and any original
documents as you may be asked to show them!

2) Next stop: the Department of Naturalization and Residency, Dubai (DNRD). several
locations; Take a ticket from the machine at the entrance (choose the "Visa") option and wait to
be called to the Entry Permit section. Providing that all your documents are in order, the official
will process the application (fee is AED 520) and give you the entry permit.

3) Apply for residence visa: fill another application form and provide a photocopy of husband's
passport photo page and residence permit page. The residence visa enables you to apply for a
residence permit. Having obtained the entry permit (an A4 size pink form titled "Residence"),
go to DNRD with the permit, passports and passport photos. At the "House of Translation"
opposite, request a "Status Change" form and fill it, using the entry permit as a reference. The
Status Change* form is prepaid and cost AED 530; the charge for filling the form was AED 40.
After attaching a photocopy of husband's passport photo page and residence permit page with
his signature, and 2 passport photos, go to DNRD, get a ticket (choose option "Cancellation"
from the ticket machine) and waited to be served. The official processed the Status Change
form, stamped my passport and put a sticker on the entry permit, both of which were returned
to me. Next steps are to apply for a health card and have a medical exam.

Driving license
While the list of driving licenses which are accepted by the Dubai authorities may change on a
regular basis, drivers from the following countries do not have to retake their driving tests:
-Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Kuwait, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman,
Poland, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey,
United Kingdom and the United States of America.

However, it must be noted that drivers from Canada will need a letter from the Canadian consulate
in Dubai to confirm their license is genuine before a transfer can be completed. Also, drivers from
Greece, China, Turkey, Japan and South Korea will require a translation of their driving license
from the relevant consulates. While the situation is a lot simpler if you hold a driving license from
any of the above countries it must be noted that your driving license must be from the same
country as your passport otherwise you will be forced to take additional driving lessons and an
additional Dubai driving test.

From Asian Countries like INDIA have to give classes and exam. Only requirement should be card
based license from india not paper. If 5 years old classes less otherwise more

Total fees come around 5000-6000 AED
