LOC Readings: Read page 870 to get an idea of the issue

Students should read and RESPOND to TWO (2) of the readings: articles, essays, stories found in
Chapter 11: Gender of your LOC text.

• Your responses should be completed on the Schoology Group page by Sat evening,
9/19. Responses should cover the student’s reactions to the author’s
purpose, analysis of any significant aspects of the text or devices noticed for their effect
on the reader, and can include the student’s opinions on the issue or on the effectiveness
of the writer’s argument concerning the issue.

Students will then be expected to REPLY to TWO (2) of their peers’ responses by Fri 9/25.
The day the journals/ final copies are due.

• Replies are a continuation of the CONVERSATION and should NOT BE CRITIQUES

of the peer’s response – what they did well or badly – what they should have done
next time. Address the issues and observations the student made and extend the
\conversation from there…
