• Economic study and strategy development for a major industrial corridor along India’s East Coast, with
Asian Development Bank.
o Developed a comprehensive parametric industry selection framework, taking into account current
and future outlook of industries in terms of value addition, trade potential and investor interest at a
regional, national and international level, which was filtered by strengths and weaknesses of the
region in terms of available factors of production and sustainability goals, to arrive at the final list of
focus sub sectors for the region.
o Developed framework for Cost to Serve analysis, which benchmarks performance of a specific
location in terms of cost of manufacturing and supplying goods to target markets, against other
competing locations. The same was used to provide targeted interventions to the client.
o Performed industry consultations and secondary research to map industry value chains and to
identify critical gaps hampering the growth of selected industries, such as metals manufacturing
o Provided a holistic set of recommendations, covering aspects such as infrastructure gaps,
ecosystem requirements, policy measures, and skilling requirements, to enable the region to
become a part of Global Value Chains, capitalizing on its multiple ports.
• Project management and strategy development and implementation support to Department of
Industrial Policy and Promotion (Govt. of India) for increasing foreign investments into the country.
o Developed a framework performing a Country Sector analysis, to identify focus industries for the
growth of manufacturing, and to identify key countries to target companies and investments from.
o Developed investor targeting strategies and assisted in investor handholding efforts for sectors
such as Automotive, Metals and Mining, Aviation, etc
• Preparation of strategic action plan for growth of manufacturing of Medical Devices in India.
o Performed a base case study to analyse current market status in India, including prevalent sub
sectors, key market players, manufacturing and R&D competitiveness. Also assessed future growth
potential considering market enhancement due to advent of health insurance and exports.
o Performed benchmarking studies with leading countries to identify market, policy and regulatory,
skilling and infrastructure gaps, to identify key areas of intervention for the sector’s growth.
o Conducted consultations with senior executives of leading medical device manufacturers, traders,
entrepreneurs, investors and related government ministries to prepare a holistic growth strategy.
• Location Strategy for a global IT conglomerate and a global Food & Beverages major
o Developed a parametric framework for selection of optimum location for establishing a new unit.
o Reviewed industrial policies across key states, including incentives, regulations and taxation.

organization to assess the long-term vision for the firm, and their individual business requirements.
This was used to define accurate weightages across various parameters in the framework. For
example, the vertical providing customer support would have very different requirements from the
vertical developing new products.
o Identified top potential locations, and worked with business leaders to arrive at the best fit location
for all verticals.
o The client eventually appointed us to conduct similar studies in other countries of operation.
• Assessment of Transit Oriented Development and Land Value Capture potential for a real estate project
