Error detection with test box 6SE7090-0XX84-1FKO
1. Take intermediate circuit voltage (terminal " C'" and" D "). The intermediate
circuit voltage must be smaller 50 V, before beginning the error detection!
Disconnect motor cabling from Simovert master drive!!!
2. Dismantle control module" CUx" 3 &

line of the test box. Set all switches
of the test box in position "0".
Position of the switch"
Master/Slave " is arbitrary.
Connect socket "A" at the left side
of the test box with earth (converter
housing). Plug in CU-adapter at the
place where the contro| module sen ee
was situated.
When checking the devices the function “Safety off’ has to be switched off:
- for bookshelf DC/DC converter:
insert a jumper between link 5 and 6 at plug X9
- for chassis units with with application K80 (safety off):
insert a jumper between link 3 and 4 at plug X533 on the SSB module
Note:
When the function " safety off" is activated, the light emitting diodes for UCES
(bookshetf converter) respectivly UCER, UCES turn out; the light emitting
diodes for UCET (chassis units with optocoupler) do not turn out. |

3. Feed 24 V over plug X9 with power supply(24 ... 28 V).
X91 = +24V X9/2 = Earth
Suitable power supply: 0 - 30 V/3 A for bookshelf and chassis units
0-30 V/5 A for parallel connected units
All ight emitting diodes must shine as a check of the supply voltages as well as
VREFU and VREF|. UCER, UCES and UCET must flash briefly when
connecting the 24 V and then remain dark.

4. Reduce voltage of 24 V- to 12 V-. At 12 V-, only the light emitting diode "P5"
shines at the left side of the test box. When the light emitting diode "LDSAVE"
tums out at approx. 18V-, the light emitting diode "UCES" starts shining at
bookshelf units, and for chassis units the light emitting diodes "UCER’,
“UCES" and "UCET" start shining.
5. Increase Voltage again to 24 V-. Light emitting diodes shine as described
under item 3. The exact values of the supply voltages can be taken with a
multimeter at the sockets situated at the left side of the test box

6. Take voltage Ud between converter terminals" C " and " D " with mulitmeter.
The intermediate circuit should be unloaded, i.e. measure voltage = 0 V. Take
voltage at the test box between socket " UZKN " and socket" A ".
When Ud = 0 V, the taken value of voltages at the test box must be within -50
mV... +50 mV.
FA Take the voltage between socket "IRN" and" A" with mulitmeter.
Required voltage value is within -50 m V... +50 m V. Check voltage between
"ISN" and" A” as well as between "ITN" and" A". Required value is within
-50 mV... +50 m Vas well.
8. Switch off the power supply of the laboratory. Connect converter terminals "C"
and" D ‘to the laboratory power supply. Mind the polarity: " C "on positive
terminal, " D" on negative pole!

9. Restart power supply. Now the intermediate circuit of the Simovert Master
Drive is loaded with 24 V. Check voltage Ud between the converter terminals
"C" and "D" with multimeter.
10, At this test step it is absolutely necessary that the motor is
disconnected!
With the switches at the right side of the test box the power transistors can be
triggered. The switch " Master/Slave " only work with parallel connected
converters (design "M"). With this switch it can be determined if the power
transistors of the master or those of the slave are triggered. Trigger diagonally
opposite power transistors and take voltage at the concerned output
terminals

Example:
a) Turn the switch of the test box for phase U in position U+ and turn the
switch for phase V in V- position. The previously taken voltage Ud must be
taken now with positive or negative sign between the output terminals " U2"
and" V2", e.g. +24 V.
b) Turn switch in position U- and V+. The voltage between the output
terminals " U2" and" V2" has now the opposite sign as taken under item a),
eg. -24V.
) Similar test of the voltages between V and W as well as U and W.
11. Take the voltage between socket " TWRN " and" A” with multimeter.
Depending on the device temperature (radiator box), different voltages will
appear. Bookshelf converter and Chassis converter, including design H, only
have one temperature sensor. Chassis converter, starting from design J have
two temperature sensors, The individual temperature sensors of these
converters can be triggered by the tracers down at the right side of the test
box. The sensor seizes the temperature of the radiator box, which can deviate
from the ambient temperature!

12, Test of the voltage standardization:
Standardization only to be carried out, when the displayed value at the PMU
or OP1 deviates from the taken value of the intermediate circuit voltage!
Disconnect motor cabiing from converter!
Connect socket " A" at the left side of the test box with earth.
Tum all switches of the test box in position " 0".
Connect main voltage to the converter terminals " U1, V1, W1"
- > the intermediate circuit is now loaded (for inverter devices raise the
intermediate circuit and and connect the converter)
Take the voltage Ud between the terminals " C " and" D" with multimeter.
Take the voltage between socket " UZKN " and" A” at the test box.
Following standardization applies:
3 AC 208 - 230 VIDC 280 - 310 V: UZKN = 0.01075 * Ud
3 AC 380 - 460 V/DC 510 - 620 v: UZKN = 0.005467 * Ud
3 AC 500 - 575 VDC 675 - 780 V: UZKN = 0.0044 * Ud
3 AC 660 - 680 V/DC 890 - 930 V: UZKN = 0.003667 * Ud
Example,
Ata converter 3AC 380 - 460V, a voltage Ud of 600V between terminals " C
"and" D "is taken, Required voltage between “ UZKN " and "
600 V x 0.005467 = 3.28V
