Using Excited and Exciting

excited Excited is an adjective that describes when someone feels happy and
vs enthusiastic about something.
exciting
For example: She was so excited that she couldn't sleep.

Exciting is an adjective that means something is making you excited.

For example: The football match was so exciting! She couldn't wait to tell
everyone about it.

Are these sentences correct? If correct write ‘correct’ underneath the sentence. If
incorrect rewrite the sentence correctly.

1. I was very exciting when I saw the famous actor.

2. The football match was not very excited.

3. After a long and cold winter, I was so happy and exciting to be going on
holiday to the Maldives.

4. Songkran is an exciting time to be in Thailand.

Using Bored and Boring

Are these sentences correct? If correct write ‘correct’ underneath the sentence. If
incorrect rewrite the sentence correctly.

5. I don’t really like studying; I find it bored.

6. The football match was so boring.

7. I am so boring today!

8. The Songkran Festival is anything but bored.


Remember:
Adjectives that end in -ed are used to describe how people feel:

‘He was surprised to find that he had been upgraded to first class.'
'I was confused by the movie’s ending.'
I was bored during the movie.

'-ing' adjectives
Adjectives that end in -ing are used to describe things and
situations. Compare these example sentences to the ones above:

'Being upgraded to first class is surprising.'


The movie’s ending was confusing.'
'Working hard all day is tiring.'
