Happy Principles 

A guideline on how HappyFreshers run things 


 
 
 
1. KEEP IT SIMPLE, MAKE IT WORK 
This first principle is deeply ingrained in how we design and build our technology and in how 
we run our day-to-day business. Instead of asking ourselves what could be added, we ask 
ourselves what could be streamlined from a product or a process without reducing the value of 
what we offer. Making people do less always pays in the long run.  

2. HAPPY TEAM, HAPPY CUSTOMERS 

We don't name ourselves HappyFresh unless we are a group of happy people. Just like any 
other fast-growing company, we care a lot about performance and customer happiness. 
However, we refuse to believe that employee happiness comes second. Toxic, cutthroat work 
cultures are so last year. We always strive to make sure our team is a Happy Team--always 
amped-up to keep the Happy Customers coming. 

3. STAY HUNGRY & CELEBRATE SUCCESS 

In our office, you will hear people cheering and clapping from time to time. That is just us! We 
work hard, we achieve things, we get used to each other's accents, we insert celebration GIFS 
in our emails, and we stop to eat martabak/cakes/pizza when it's someone's birthday or work 
anniversary.   

4. TRY, FAIL, & TRY SMARTER 

Experiment is in the core of what we do. During our 4 years of operation, we have evolved from 
one core business to multiple products/business units, as a result of our continuous 
experiments. Some of them failed, but some of them also highly succeeded, and we learnt a 
great deal along the way.  

5. SPEAK UP! 

Why hold back ideas when you have many? We are a place where everyone is encouraged to 
take initiative, to speak up, to be bold and to take risks. We listen and we take the best ideas 
forward no matter from where in the organization they are coming from.
