Grade 10 Filipino curriculum. With this, an innovative work plan entitled “El

localized instructional material.

Project Proposal

I. Title: EL FILIBUSTERISMO FILM FEST

II. Rationale

El Filibusterismo is known to be one of the greatest novels written

by the Philippines’ National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal. It was the novel that
reminded the Filipinos the value of patriotism and unity. With this said, it
firmly shows the importance of it being a part of the Filipino subject
curriculum to instill to the students the beauty of Filipino literatures and the
value it can develop to the learners.
Though this had been a major part of the curriculum, there seems
to be a lack of learning materials available in educating the learners
regarding the novel. In connection to this, the directing and producing of
film will help in providing learning materials to learners.
Moreover, film making is one very essential innovation to improve
ICT skills of learners. Today, to be ICT literate is one of the 21 st Century
Skills that id demanded to them. Since learners are now exposed to these,
the creation of a film would suit to their needs for global development.

III. Plan of Action

A. Objectives

The work plan was conceptualize to conduct a Film Festival

showing the produced film of the Grade 10 students on El Filibusterismo, a
novel written by Jose P. Rizal. Specifically, it aims to achieve the following
objectives:

1. Equip learners the needed 21 st century skills through ICT integration
in the Filipino subject
2. Develop critical thinking through bringing out their creative ideas in
directing, videography and editing
3. Pique their interest in Filipino literatures
4. Enhance collaboration and team work by brainstorming on the
production of the film
5. Exhibit the beauty of Filipino literatures to learners and teachers

B. Time Frame

The El Filibusterismo Film Fest will be scheduled on March 2020.

The scenes will be shot from February 2020- March 2020.

C. Target Clientele

The target viewers for the film will be the teachers and learners of
Gonzaga National High School. Learners from other schools will also be
welcome to watch the film.

D. Budgetary Requirement

The production of a film requires the use of resources available.

Laptops, smartphones and cameras shall be in course with the learners
and the teachers. Costumes will be source out from available individuals.

IV. Impact of the Work Plan

This work plan entitled “El Filibusterismo Film Fest” shall be one of
the innovations to encourage learners to be more creative of their capacity
to utilize ICT. This will be of great help to the following:
1. The School Head and teachers will be more motivated to
support other programs especially on the academic
development of the learners.
2. The production of the film shall become a good source of
income generating project.
3. Learners will have higher appreciation on the beauty of
producing a localized movie.
4. Teachers in MAPEH, TLE and Language subjects will be more
motivated to unleash the literacy of the learners in drama and
film production.

5. The film making will boost the morale of the learners uplifting
their self-esteem. To act as characters is not easy; thus learners
who are encouraged to join the cast will gain better
communicative skills.
6. Lastly, teachers teaching language subjects can use the product
as a localized instructional material.
