1) What is research?
- A systematic collection and analysis of data to illuminate describe or explain new facts and
relationships. In its broadest sense, it is an attempt to find solutions to problems. It is likewise a
collection of data in a controlled situation for purposes of prediction or explanation.
2) What is nursing research?
- sNursing research, A Formal systematic, vigorous and intensive process used for solutions to
nursing problems or to discover and interpret new facts and trends in clinical practice, nursing
education or nursing administration.
3) Give the importance of nursing research?
 It is a major contributor towards the attainment of national development goals
 Has brought about progress and a much better life for all
 Improves the quality of life
 Improves instruction
 Improves students achievement
 Reduces the burden of work
 Has deep seated psychological aspects

5) What are the 5 purposes of nursing research?


 Identification- nursing research assesses situations that need clarification or identification.
 Description- research aims at describing a phenomenon that relates to the nursing
profession.
 Exploration- research explores the phenomenon by observing and recording events and
situations occurring in that phenomenon.
 Explanation- research seeks clarification of a prevailing situation to answer questions that
ask ' why' a phenomenon occurred.
 Prediction and control- research anticipates possible psychological and physiological
reactions to nursing interventions.
6) Why is research important to your profession?
- The main purpose of research is to inform action, to prove a theory, and contribute to developing
knowledge in a field of Radiologic technologist. Research is important to my profession because it
helps us to gain knowledge to practice our selves fixing problem and having it a solution, not only
that research can find answers to things that are unknown, filling gaps knowledge and changing the
way that healthcare professionals work.
