The Storyline

The story revolves around the town of Whoville, where all the Whos
love Christmas. In fact they love Christmas so much it is all they talk
about!

However, a mysterious outcast lives to the North of the town; this

outcast hates Christmas and anything to do with the festive time of year.
This outcast is called the Grinch!

The play follows the story of Cindy-Lou and her family as they open up
to the Grinch, and try to show him what Christmas is all about. However,
the Grinch has his own plans to ruin Christmas for the town, and steals
all the presents on Christmas eve.

He has a change of heart however when he hears the town enjoying

Christmas even though he had stolen all of the presents. His heart
grows and he quickly returns the gifts and takes part in all the festivities.

THE GRINCH - PART 2

Drew, Stew, Lilly and Tilly are making their way up the mountain where
the Grinch lives, the narrators come on to stage

Narrator 5: Most Whos from Whoville thought the Grinch was just a
tale

Narrator 6: A myth or a legend told to scare children pale

Narrator 4: So a group of Who-teens set off to find proof

Narrator 5: A brave-young bunch who were seeking the truth

The four Whos are walking through deep snow but stop for a quick
discussion

Stu: Let’s see if the famous legend of the Grinch is true

Tilly: We’re the toughest Whos in Whoville, we’ll find him

Drew: Erm, erm… Can we go back now? I want my mummy!

Lilly: Don’t be a sacredy cat Drew! Oh, look – a door!

Tilly: I dare you to knock on it

Drew: No way, don’t do it!

Lilly: I’ll do it, I’m not scared!

Stu: I’ll do it for you Tilly, come on Lilly, let’s go…

Stu and Lilly walk over to the door, with Drew and Tilly holding back
looking scared

Lilly: Let me do it Stu

Lilly sheepishly knocks on the door and for a moment nothing happens,
then from behind the door…

Max/Rocky: ROOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRR!

All four Who-teens run away screaming, the Grinch comes out holding
an onion, he shows it to the audience, rubs it under his armpits and then
takes a bite

Grinch: Max, Rocky – what’s all that noise

The Grinch sees the teenagers running away

Grinch: Ah, well done my little blossom-cherubs. They won’t be

back anytime soon but still… If some come, MORE COME!
And tomorrow is Christmas, their favorite time of year!

Narrator 6: Staring down from his cave with a sour, Grinchy frown

Narrator 4: At the warm lighted windows below in the town

Narrator 5: He knew every Who down in Whoville beneath

Narrator 6: Would be busy now hanging a hollywho Wreath

Grinch: And their hanging their stockings

Narrator 4: He snarled with a sneer

Grinch: Tomorrow is Christmas! It’s practically here!

Narrator 5: Then he growled with his Grinch fingers nervously

Class sing the song on stage as the Grinch is strutting around the stage
grumbling to himself, he starts to disguise himself with a bath robe and
a mask.

APPLAUSE

The full script is 23 pages long and should take between 40 minutes to
an hour to perform.
