I, Akter Hosen, am applying to Technische Universität of Kaiserslautern, Germany for the

admission to Master’s Program in ’Actuarial and Financial Mathematics’’ with specialization in

the field of Mathematics. Below I have given my brief about the statement of purpose.

Analysis of data using mathematical and statistical cognitions is very essential for every sector
in every country in this world. As an educated person I shoulder the potential responsibility to
boost our rigged economy sacrificing myself in my area of interest. Nowadays People are
getting more and more interest in data science and intend to learn different methods of data
science and also using several essential statistical software and languages for data processing.
Since my first year of graduation, I was very interest in data processing and data mining.
SPSS( Statistical Package for the Social Science), one of the best statistical software performing
data policy. My honorable teacher and supervisor professor Chandan Kumer Podder inspired
and helped me a lot in this regard. He always says “invest your time and patience in such work
which you really wanted to and feel passion”.

I strongly believe, all my dreams and ambitions covering my higher education at Technische
Universität of Kaiserslautern is to complete my master program successfully and then It will
help me to work and sacrifice for my country and its people. Additionally, Technische
Universität of Kaiserslautern supply high quality of schooling and provides contemporary
curriculums. Apparently, I will involve myself in teaching profession when I will return to my
motherland after finishing my master degree and it will be so far prestigious and helpful for me
and my country since our country lacks from proper higher education. I particularly chose
Germany as ultimate destiny for tracing my master program only because It always inspires and
prioritizes innovative, potential as well as creative scholars.
Actuarial Science is a field which solely requires Mathematical and Statistical methods to
evaluate risks including finance and insurance, industries and professions. The professionals
who have acquaintances of actuary perform much better in this field. In this sense, Statistics, as
my study field is closely bonded with this provided master degree and covered its associated
areas of ’Actuarial and Financial Mathematics’’ at Technische Universität of Kaiserslautern. So, I
certainly believe I would definitely be a suitable international member in this prominent
department considering my academic relevances.
Needless to mention, my family members especially my eldest brother inspired me to go
overseas for higher education and I was self-motivated in this issue. Consequently, I have
enrolled myself to the very renowned Public University in my country named University of
Chittagong which is one of the ten top universities, ranked 3 in my motherland, Bangladesh.
Further, I got admission in my favorite subject Statistics through a very competitive exam in
2010 with the maximum number. I have studied Probability, Basic Statistics, Bio-Statistics,
Actuary, Inference, Test of Hypothesis, Macro and Micro Economics, Sampling Techniques and
some very crucial Mathematical specializations Algebra, Complex Number, Mathematica Series,
Geometry, Trigonometry, and Advance Calculous, for instance as I have completed my Bachelor
and Master in Statistics.

From this keen interest, I always tried to perform better than other students in my class in
statistical data analysis through SPSS( Statistical Package for the Social Science) and I
succeeded. By this time I started to learn some popular programming languages FORTRAN and
R which are undoubtedly inevitable for data processing. I have successfully solved an enormous
mathematical problem using those programming languages. Most Importantly, I have
accomplished a project
the title “Experiences and Perfections regarding E-Learning of the students of the University of
Chittagong” which was a part of my academic program in which I have fairly implemented my
Theoretical and Applied skills of Statistics that I achieved during my graduation period.

I was intended to have professional knowledge related to my study field. As a result, I worked in
a very famous, esteemed Brokerage house or securities as a junior trader where I have
appointed my Theoretical and Applied expertise freely and there I met some extraordinary
people who had motivated me to become a successful professional in future. The skills I gained
from my practical work ushered a new horizon for the rest of my life. In addition, I have better
communication skills as I collected plenty of primary data through the questionnaire and
interview methods for my university project work. I have reputations scoring good marks and
performing better in my area of study in my school, college, and university. I collectively worked
with my classmates and respected teachers at my department of Statistics and I was positively
acclaimed by both of them.

So as I mentioned I and my family are very deterministic about my higher education, from this
rising interest I would like to enroll myself in a master degree program ‘’Actuarial and Financial
Mathematics’’ at Technische Universität of Kaiserslautern, Germany. I think this particular
master program is fully covered the academic backgrounds that I have. I hope I will retain all
related prospects and knowledge when I will go through this program and I will dedicate myself
learning everything that I would be taught.
I sincerely opine that I am eagerly ready to study Actuarial and Financial Mathematics’’ as my
master program at Technische Universität of Kaiserslautern in Germany because it (Technische
Universität) is a fairground and one of the best universities to pursue my anticipated master
program.
