The Work of the Holy Spirit

‘’As believers, we should be constantly aware that without the Spirit we cannot accomplish
nothing.’’

When I was in my younger age, I remember telling myself how hard it was to understand
the Bible. It is full of highfalutin words which are hard to comprehend by a mere child like me.
Not only until I realized the work of the Holy Spirit.

One of the most important things to do before reading the Bible is to ask for the
indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, as stated in the presentation, strives (Gen. 6:3),
teaches (Luke 12:12), convicts (John 16:8), and inspires (2 Peter 1:21) the person or an
individual who are willing to know more about Jesus. For me, the Spirit serves as my teacher, it
tells me what is the best thing to do. On the other hand, my role is whether to follow or disregard
its commands. There were many instances when I tried to follow my own will and not ask to be
filled with the Holy Spirit. A day without the power of the Holy Spirit is nothing but trouble.
Being filled with Holy Spirit brings me a closer walk with Jesus. Not only that, being dependent
with the Spirit allows me to experience security. It helps me unfold the deeper truth in the Bible
and what more to uncover about the life of Jesus and His soon return.

Life is full of thresholds and uncertainties, however, we have the Holy Spirit that will
serve as our Comforter and Mediator (John 14:19) in times of trying times. With the Spirit we
can overcome many things. Therefore, we must be dependent to the Lord and always ask for the
overflowing power of the Holy Spirit.
