Dihydroxyaluminium sodium carbonate: is a useful antacid which reacts chemically to neutralize
gastric acid increasing the pH of the stomach, thus providing symptomatic relief of hyperacidity. The compound provides both the rapid effect of carbonate and the sustained effect of dihydroxyaluminium moiety. It also adsorbs substances which can damage the mucous membranes e.g. bile acids. Simethicone: is a gastrointestinal protective agent with antifoaming action. It is used for treatment of problems due to excess gases such as flatulence, gastric bloating, post-operative gaseous distension. Indications Symptomatic relief of hyperacidity and flatulence associated with peptic ulcer, gastritis, oesophagitis, gastric hyperacidity and hiatus hernia. Dosage and administration 1-2 tablets 4 times a day to be chewed between meals and at bedtime or as directed by the physician. Side effects Aluminium containing antacids may cause constipation. Precaution Hypophosphatemia may occur with prolonged administration of aluminium containing antacids. Drug interactions The rate and / or extent of absorption of drugs may be increased or decreased when they are taken concurrently with antacids, therefore as a general rule medication should not be taken within one to two hours of taking antacids, if possible. Contra-indications Severe renal insufficiency. Presentation A box containing 2 strips, 10 tablets each. Company Produced by: Amriya Pharm. Ind., Alexandria - Egypt
