Manual mode can categorize by automatic and manual steering control system as I read
all about. When we say auto-pilot system is considered as one of the most advanced and
technically modern navigational equipment tools on ships that is used nowadays. Though due to
its advancement there is always its limitation and capability. Auto-pilot system is only used in
when the ship is sailing in open seas but in the sea we will encounter natural disasters and
different phenomenon like typhoon, bad weather, heavy rains and etc. that leads to accident or
loss of human life at sea because human cannot control its, natural. However, the ship has its
manual mod. During the long voyage when entering to port encountered traffic density, canals,
congested area, near island, and bad weather this is the time we use manual mode. Manual mode
is they or the deck officers steer the ship to its own said direction. And navigate and direct the
ship to one place to another in a safest and fastest way by a crew or deck officers on board to
avoid possible danger or accidents.
