CLEAN GUARD 71F01 is a descaling agent used for cleaning of heat

exchange equipment and pipework.

Calcium deposits and corrosion products in any system will reduce flow,
heat transfer and overall efficiency.

CLEAN GUARD 71F01 is effective in removing calcium carbonate, metallic

oxides and many other fouling. The inhibitor present will prevent attack on
cast iron, steel, other aluminum, copper and copper alloys such as
cupronickel, brass, etc.

CLEAN GUARD 71F01 is recommended for use in on-line cleaning of heat

exchange equipment manufactured from stainless steel where the use of
hydrochloric acid may result in stress corrosion cracking. The rate of
removal of deposit is increased by raising the temperature, but the
maximum temperature of the cleaning solution MUST NOT EXCEED 60ºC.

CLEAN GUARD 71F01 none includes a pH indicator which changes colour

to purple when the acid is exhausted.

The actual application of CLEAN GUARD 71F01 will depend upon the type
of system to be cleaned and the degree of fouling. Please refer to our
Standard Procedures for acid cleaning / descaling with CLEAN GUARD
71F01 – SP-F02 and SP-F03.

The usage rates and most efficient method of addition and cleaning for a
specific application will be advised and monitored by a Culligan Engineer
as part of our expert consultancy services.
Packaging CLEAN GUARD 71F01 is available in 30 kg fibreboard containers.
Other packaging is available upon request.

Safety Products in this category are acidic in nature and have pH values below 4.0-
4.5.
These products are ton-toxic, non-flammable and non-oxidizing.
Materials in this category are corrosive to body tissue.
They are also solids and may therefore generate dust while being handled.

Materials in this category are acidic and corrosive to body tissue and must
be handled with great care. Skin and eye contact must be avoided and
gloves and goggles should be worn, along with protective overalls and
apron when handling the product or solutions containing the product.
A mask should be worn when handling the material in order to prevent the
inhalation of dust.
Do not store with Category B (Alkaline), C (Highly Alkaline) or O
(Oxidising) products or materials.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Ensure that the operator is fully informed and familiar with the use of the
product.

Avoid ingestion of the product by mouth and nose. To eliminate the

possibility of accidental ingestion, operator should never eat, drink or
smoke when using chemicals. In addition, protective clothing should be
removed, and the hands washed prior to eating, drinking or smoking.
Store in the original containers and ensure that the cap is always secure.

Do not store in temperatures above 40ºC or below 0ºC for extended

periods. Do not stack more than two high for prolonged periods.
Avoid storing near direct heat and in direct sunlight.
