Notes
The mechanism of TI byte J1/J2 (VC4 POH/VC12-VC3 POH) is used to
control the trail / path continuity
The TI consists of up to 16 Bytes: 15 data byte (user definable) + 1 byte
(checksum)
There is a corresponding Trace Identifier for each hierarchy level:
 J0: Regenerator section (RSOH)
 J1: VC4 HO path, VC3 LO path (34 / 45 Mbit/s)
 J2: VC12 LO path (2 Mbit/s)
Trace Identifier operates in the same way in every level: It is set on the
transmit side (TX) which assigns a name. This name is then compared on the
receive side (RX) with the expected Trace Identifier.
If the is a difference between expected and received TI, the alarm Trace
Identifier Mismatch (TIM) is set.

13.1 How to set TI for path or HO trail (1)

The TI can be enabled also if one of the two NEs is an external network
reference.
The J1/J2 can be set up when the trail/path is in the allocated status or in the
implemented status
Setting up TI on an implemented trail/path can be TRAFFIC IMPACTING
