REACTION PAPER

From the videos I have seen about Corona Virus. My reaction is scared and worried; in addition it also

gave me new insights. I’ve always been scared from corona virus since the news first came out. Because

I knew it will affect everyone and everything. Looking it now, we are not able to go out like we used to.

No more traveling, no more parties, no more anything. Our lives were very different from before in the

span of few months. Moreover, I’m scared of the virus because it can be mild to serious when infected,

you’ll never know if you are going to able to recover from it. Furthermore, Corona virus has a long term

effect that not only affects the lung but the heart, kidney, or in general - the whole body. Based on the

research of the University of Glasgow, average people who recovered from the virus will lose 10 years of

their life. Imagining that, you’re life will cut short due to the virus; once this pandemic is done you

cannot able to live your life longer. I am also scared for the fact that my loved ones, most especially my

grandfather have a high risk of being infected by COVID. My grandfather is over 70 years and has

asthma. From the video, a person over 60 with an underlying medical condition can have a high risk of

COVID. There’s a possibility of him being infected from the virus. But we can avoid the virus if we take

action. Wear your mask, stay at home if can, take every day precaution such as washing your hands with

soap and water, take your vitamins and avoid unnecessary travels. Always look out for emergency

warning signs, if you have cough, fever, and shortness of breath, call your doctor immediately. Also we

should keep in mind that there are limited health facilities in Bacolod and no cure whatsoever. If we

work together on combating the virus by practicing COVID19 protocols, we can able to protect

ourselves, families and our community.
