Project management: Traditional Waterfall, Iterative or Agile.

Traditional software project management assumes that if we spend enough time analyzing our
requirements and designing the solution upfront, then we can develop a plan that we can implement
be implemented with little change. This led to great many projects that are successfully done under
the waterfall model. However, we all know that huge many projects failed because of the same
approach. Why the waterfall failed is a different story and we will discuss in detail all in another topic
in near futuresoon.

Evolving to next: Scrum assumes that we can develop an accurate plan for the next sprint that the
team can commit to delivering. But after that, we can't predict anything. So, plans are accurate for the
next sprint and but become useless after that.
I may be wrong here and there are many ways I could be proven wrong but I am sure most of the top
managers will agree based on their project management experience, plans are based on assumptions
that are partially right and partially wrong.

The average high-level business, software productproducts and technology strategy strategies are
usually valid for ten to twelve months. The average software productproducts like a roadmap, UX
architecture and technical architecture are generally right useful for the next four to six months, and
the detailed requirements and solutions are only reliable for the next two to four weeks.
