Eurosens fuel flow meters


Direct and Delta
Eurosens fuel flow meters Direct and Delta work on a rotary piston technology which is the best
choice for precise measurement of lower fuel rates (from 1 to 1500 liters per hour).
It can measure the real fuel consumption on vehicles, diesel-generators, ships, boilers and other
diesel consumers together with AVL tracking devices or as standalone unit.

Usually flow meters are used for: ■ engine test stands


■ measuring real fuel consumption ■ true motor hours tracking
■ definition of fuel limits for given tasks ■ economy-assistant systems

Some engines have a return fuel line from engine to tank, so it is impossible to measure the fuel
consumption without additional engineering of the fuel supply system. Mechatronics has two
types of fuel flow meters – a single-channel Direct and a differential Delta. With two metering
chambers Delta measures both supply and return fuel lines and calculates the difference which is
the real fuel consumption.

Eurosens flowmeter modifications


The usage of Hall sensors instead of reed switches makes the flow meters insensitive
to the effects caused by external magnetic field. Hall sensors improve the reliability
of the fuel flowmeters.

All fuel meters contain a powerful microprocessor STM32


Unique electronic circuits used in Eurosens Direct and Delta proivde the following advantages:
1. Increased accuracy.
2. Hall sensors are used instead of reed switches.
3. Automatic interference detection (tampering).
4. The flow meter can measure not only fuel consumption but also derived parameters:
engine’s (boiler’s) operation time, fuel consumption and operation time in different modes,
intervention time, etc. These parameters can be transmitted either through K-line interface (PN)
or via RS232 / RS485 / CAN in RS/CAN fuel flowmeters.
5. Eurosens fuel flow meters can be installed without a check valve. The electronic algorithm
determines fuel flow’s direction. Thus any modifications of the fuel supply system can’t affect
engine’s operation.
This is a unique feature of Eurosens flow meters.

Direct I fuel flow meters are designed to display the data locally. They do not have a pulse
output. This model requires an external power source.
The flow meters with index A also have a built-in battery that provides autonomous operation
of the flow meter for three years.
Direct PN A I flow meters can be powered from both external power supply and built-in battery.
They have a pulse output and a display.

Eurosens Delta differential flowmeters have the following unique features:


1. Compensation of fuel temperature difference in both chambers.
2. High reliability and resistance to external magnetic field due to the usage of Hall sensors.
3. High quality materials and metal processing allow to establish a 3-year warranty period
without passed flow quantity limitation.
4. The possibility of adding fuel flows instead of subtraction.
5. Measuring not only fuel consumption, but also the operating time of the engine, as well
as the operating time and fuel consumption in partial operation modes.

Axle load measurement is an important part of AVL tracking business. Mechatronics produces

Axle load sensors with digital interface (RS485 or CAN bus) have several advantages
vs. sensors with analog interface:
1. Sensor supports several (up to 3) calibration tables. It is important when single pneumatic line
connects several air springs and several axles. The same pressure will correspond to different
axle load. CAN bus interface allows to send several axle loads calculated by a new intellectual
Eurosens DPS CAN sensor.
2. A better resolution alongside with serial interface increases the accuracy of axle load
and cargo weight monitoring.

An ultrasonic liquid level sensor Dizzi can be


used for non-contact level measurement of
acoustically transparent liquids.
Liquid level is measured by echolocation
through the bottom of the tank.
Dizzi is glued to the tank or reservoir,
changes of reservoir’s original factory
design are required.

Benefits
■ Dizzi allows to measure almost any fluid, including liquefied gas.
■ No tank modification is required. All sensor components are placed outside the tank.
It is very important when you measure aggressive, explosive, food and high –
pressured liquids. A good choice for fuel tank trucks – there is no need to drill a hole in a tank.
■ Smart self-diagnostic algorithm provides stable data without signal attenuation.
■ Explosion-proof certified: 0ЕхiaIICT6Ga, [ExiaGa]IIC.
■ Output interface: RS485 (LLS, MODBUS).

Dizzi measures the liquid level correctly even if there are some residues at the bottom of the tank,
with no data loss. For further details, please, refer to the installation guide.
The sensor probe is fixed at the desired position with the help of glue and a metal tie.

■ Contactless CAN-bus reader creates a second CAN bus which can be used
as vehicle’s CAN bus copy.

Eurosens Difference-T (T2, T4)


Analog-digital converter
Eurosens Difference (onboard weighing system) module can be used in other applications too.
It converts an analog voltage signal to the serial interface RS485 and processes data according
to the stored calibration table. Connect as many analog sensors to your system as you need.

Fuel level sensor interfaces

Eurosens Dash
A simple device to generate control signal for fuel level gauge in the
vehicle’s dashboard. Source signal is taken from Eurosens Dominator
or Eurosens Dizzi level sensor.

Eurosens Dock
Another simple device to improve fuel level data coming from vehicle’s level sensor.
Originally analog, its signal depends on the onboard voltage that also falls to 0 after ignition is off.
Eurosens Dock makes a rapid correction of vehicle’s sensor data according to the measured
onboard voltage and converts it to a loseless RS485 interface compatible with a variety
of GPS trackers. A very cost-effective solution for fuel monitoring of cars.

It records CAN-bus data and captures video from IP-cameras based on data events.

■ When one or several CAN-bus parameters exceed predetermined limits or discrete
input changes its state, Eurosens Digistone counts an event.
■ When the event is registered, Eurosens Digistone saves short video from IP camera
which includes buffered video prior to the happened event.

■ Pressure sensors must be installed in the hydraulic system to monitor oil pressure.
Angle sensors are installed on the arms of manipulator to monitor their position.

■ To work in a cargo weighing mode, the system needs to be calibrated.
■ Onboard weighing during low outdoor temperatures may require the installation of extra
sensors to correct oil viscosity changes.
