Monohybrid cross

Phenotype: how the organism looks like. Example: hair color, eye color,
nose shape, fingers length…etc.

Genotype: are what genes you have in your body. Example: HH, Hh, hh

Trait: your physical appearance

 You receive one gene from mother and one gene from father

 Dominant trait always wins over recessive trait

 We give the capital letter for dominant trait

 We give the small letter for recessive trait

For example:
If black eyes are dominant we give them the letter B
If blue eyes are recessive we give them the letter b

BB: homozygous dominant. I will have black eyes

Bb: heterozygous. I will have black eyes

Bb: homozygous recessive. I will have blue eyes


If a homozygous black eyes man had offspring from a homozygous blue
eyes woman. What eye color would their children have?
