September 2017 OCL Facades - Essex

Current Envelope Building Contractor

Design Manager / Design Coordinator responsible to fully coordinate the design management process, working
in close partnership with engineers and designers to engage and cooperate with the supplier’s chain providing
the optimal design/construction solutions to the clients. A key part of my role is to define and allocate the
correct resources to meet the agreed program and related budget within the contract work.
With the acquisition of the tender and construction specifications, acting in accordance with latest building and
CDM regulation, I am responsible to get the whole design approval process in place, making sure all technical
submittals and construction drawings have been approved in advance of progressing with the entire material
procurement and setting out of the pre-construction phase of the project.
Listed below are some of the projects which I worked on:

Stratford Marshgate Lane – (On going - New Residential & Commercial Building) A new school
accommodation development scheme next to the Olympic Park; comprise
from two tall towers linked to a large podium building, the external
envelope would be clad with two different engineered stones pre-cut in
large formats to create a monolithic effect those panels would be set in
different planes to create a movement effect of the façade, also the
introduction of metal spandrels in PPC aluminum pressing to match the
contemporary dual frame aluminum fenestration and create a natural
break of the continues walling effect.
The windows and curtain wall systems adopt for this project are provided
by Sapa (DF 75 SI Range) a full height modular façade system to
maintain the striking contemporary design.
Architect – Stride Traglown

Capitol Way – (Full re-clad project) 17th floors Residential Building; working closely
with the client and façade consultants the external wall construction was
redesigned to comply with latest A.D.B - Fire Safety Regulation,
therefore no combustible materials were selected for this project the
external façade was completely re-clad an approx. 40% of the external
 façade was re-clad with Nordic Brass and PPC Aluminum large modules
panels, the remain of the façade was re-clad with 12 mm engineered
stone also were installed new curtain wall units and casement windows
on multiple levels included several balconies doors systems provide by
“Reynaers CS_86_HI”– the metal cladding system used was by “Sotech
Optima FC” – the stone cladding used was by “Shackerley”.

Equipment Work – New Commercial Building as part of Telford Home new residential
development scheme; only for this exclusive building the Architect
specified to clad the upper levels of the envelope with a corrugated Zinc
cladding panels provide by “VMZ Sine wave profile”– sub grid by
“Nvelope NH2”– Cavity barrier by “SIDERISE” – brick slip by “Fast
Clad”.

Start from the preliminary acquisition of the project specification, then going through the entire aspects of
a design development to assist the relevant manufacturing process.
I have been involved in various scope of cladding jobs which they help me to develop many skills and
understand the complexity of the Facade Engineer and Architectural Technician role.
Deliver technical specifications, construction details drawings implemented with building information
models regarding various scope of works such as: Rain-screen systems - Terracotta cladding - Precast
panels - Traditional handset cladding - Technical flooring systems for Shopping Centre and Airport
Terminals - External paving.
Listed below are some of the projects which I worked on:

Marble Arch Place – A BIM precast job, an external Portland facade made from precast panels
and pre-tensioned units. Working with a structural Engineer firm to
design and deliver this precast job. There are two different buildings in
this project, one is a commercial building 10 floors height next to a 19
floors height Residential Tower linked to a lower podium structure.

Angel Court – An external cladding job, a split face stone panels used to envelop a new
concrete encasements structure, designed to compliance with the
BS8298:1994 “Code of Practice for the Design and Installation of Natural
Stone Cladding” typical load bearing support brackets and restraint fixing
system was used for this type of hand set facade. Architect - Fletcher
Priest
Bloomberg Head Quarter - I covered a key part of the design team of this epic piece of work, I was
in charge to develop and design the entire external precast work and part
of internal scope of Bloomberg, most of the design coordination and
manufactory was developed using 3D Modeling to improve the quality of
work and reduced any potential clashes with all other contractors
involved on the external façade work. Unique concrete precast shapes
 were designed for this job comprehending bespoke façade elements such
as 8.5 meters height column and 18 meters beam which is weight is
approx. 25 tones.

Westfield Shopping Centre - New Stratford Shopping Centre, an external and internal mall area
approx. 50.000 square meters of commercial floor. I take the lead of the
whole design with the supervision of the Architect, more than 10 differ
types of patterns where created for this large area of work, a different
build-up were used to adjust the differences types of floors structure.
Architect - The Buchan International
New Central St. Giles - An ambitious and colorful concept design was adopted from the architect
to define this new three new residential buildings. I was appointed to
supervised and designed the external paving area internal feature walls
cladding, the external paving was design to incorporate the bespoke
drainage systems, one of the peculiarity of this work was the unusual
pattern layout set out. Were used large triangular modules slabs to form
and control the paving levels and falls. Regarding the interior scope all
lifts lobbies and the main recession area was specified to install a special
Glazed Terracotta Tiles fixed on a rail system subframe.

John Lewis Olympic Village - Part of the Heritage of the Olympic Village located next door to the
Westfield Shopping Centre, I was part of the design team with the help
of Arup Engineering to develop a bespoke stone rain-screen facade
which it has to be structurally light and also achieved a low thermal
conductivity value. (The U value achieved of the overall rain-screen
system was 0.35 W/m²K).
Consult Engineering – Arup Façade
One Southampton Row - External stone Façade to form architectural elements such as columns and
transoms built with pre tensioning techniques. I designed all external
façade included all mechanical fixings. Part of this scope was also design
and supplied the main entrance porch which it was built with difference
engraved and bespoke cladding panels fixed and secured back on the
main structure with the help of anchors fixings.

Project Manager for a construction company called ‘L’européenne de Marble’ specialist in luxurious
stone interiors design.
I was supervised part of the work on behalf of the company. I was involved in the redeveloping of some
of the prestigious Knightsbridge apartments with the collaboration of the Interior Design Company
Candy-Candy.
Another major project which I was involved was the renovation of a private residence “The Hanover
Lodge” a historical classical villa located in Regents Park. I was dealing with the company supplier’s
chain on a daily basis to ensure that leading time were met, all material selection and quality control was
under my responsibility. Also, I was involved in several small refurbishment’s projects of private houses
mainly located in London and North England.

Junior Space Planner of the Facility Management Company based on the Historical IBM South Bank
Building.
My work was helping the Senior Space Planner to control and managing the entire office space in all IBM
buildings located in South England. All office space unoccupied and occupied had to be recorded and
control with the support of specifics database and CAD drawings to allow the client understand how to
reorganize different projects and allocate new stuff in a different areas if necessary.
