Plato’s idea on the self is very simple yet complex.

He has a different way of explaining things, which

means that he either tells you what he means or he contradicts himself. He starts off saying that the
soul, psyche, is the “thing” that causes things to be alive, but then says that “I” equals my soul. He
believes that the "self" is the one that contributes to his soul and that is separate from their body.

Socrates

This philosopher is firm on his belief that the "self" is our soul. We can say it is ourself if we have our
soul.

Augustine

Lastly, Augustine believe that "self" is his belief and faith in God, his relationship with him is all that
composes his whole self and that completes his whole self in peace. For him the "self" is only the self if
you are with God.

My concept of self is that "self" is by faith so I can see that it is compatible with Augustine's. Self for me
is when you know who create you and be grateful for it. The self us when you know you are made with
a soul and body to come out with a purpose and believes in the creator Himself. I can see the
compatibility of my concept of self to Augustine and I completely agree with him.
