    What is it ?

    also known as the Hijri, Lunar Hijri, Muslim or Arabic


    -

    calendar,

    -consisting of 12 lunar months in a year of 354 or 355 days.

    -used to determine the proper days of Islamic holidays and


    rituals, such as the annual period of fasting and the proper
    time for the Hajj.
    -was established during the YEAR when Prophet
    Muhammad PBUH and his followers migrated(hijra) from
    Mecca to Medina

    -The hijrah of prophet is on 12th of Rabi’ul Awwal 1H

    -in Muslim countries, it is also sometimes denoted as H[2]


    from its Arabic form (‫سنَة ِه ْج ِر َّية‬,
    َ abbreviated ‫)ھ‬.

    -The current Islamic year is 1442 AH(after hijrah)

    -In the Gregorian calendar, 1442 AH started on the last


    21st August 2020.

    Muharram
    Prophet Muhammad PBUH
    encouraged us to fast on.........

    10th Muharram
    And it is called
    ASHOORA
    And it is
    TOMORROW!!!!
    Not only Muslims,
    Jews as well fast on 10th
    Muharram,
    because on the same date,
    Allah saved Prophet Musa and
    drowned Pharaoh and his people

    To not resemble the Jews


    who fast on 10th Muharram,
    Propet Muhammad PBUH
    encouraged us to fast on
    9th Muharram too..
    And the prophet said....

    It means that our sins in the previous


    year are
    forgiven by Allah!!!!
    So, lets fast together tomorrow,
    inshaAllah

    May our sins be forgiven by Allah
