Outside Look of the Business Location

The proposed business location for the first Snack Chat food stall will be
in a place near both of Nagpayong Elementary School and Nagpayong High
school. This is the perfect location to serve the target markets which are students.
Mostly students buy their foods either inside or outside of the school premises and
often times students get sick of canteens and the food that they offer. This will
give an opportunity for Snack Chat to be patronized by more students. It's a
perfect location because it will be easier for them to reach our business because
it's just outside the school premises.

Figure 2
Snack Chat Logo

Snack Chat symbolizes food service that is fresh, premium, made to order
snacks with its unique side of healthy ingredients. It symbolizes the food and the
place where the business will be established. The speech bubble in the middle
corresponds with the word "SNACK CHAT" representing the business name and also
means of having a conversation with someone while waiting for the food to be serve.
The burger and drinks beside the speech bubble represents the type of food products
that we will be serving. The color yellow in the background symbolizes the people
behind this business. Yellow is a warm and happy color which creates a sense of
cheerfulness and playfulness, it is optimistic, uplifting, illuminating and brightening
people's spirit. The text color is orange because color orange is considered as fun,
light color with appetizing and delicious qualities. It also increases mental creativity.
The color black as an outline is favored by the youth because of its sophistication and
rebelliousness. Thus, this color is a strong, contained, and formal on the way it looks.

E. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

This project will help the students to have time for them. Its potential worth
would be small at first but as the project grows and propagate it could worth even
bigger. The importance will cover the customers specially, the millennials who really
love to spend their time eating and enjoying their meal. Also, its major importance is
that it could give the customers free access to Wi-Fi connection if they will be our
loyal customers so they could find answers to their assignments and give them time to
chat or message their loved ones. This business could gain popularity and attract more
customers in the future.

Last December 12, 2017, the proponents decided to do brainstorming to
come up with the idea of having or building an effective business that will
showcase their creativity and imagination. So, the team decided that it should

range of snacks like Street foods, Nachos, desserts like Graham Balls and
different smoothie like mango or strawberry flavor. The group also decided to
provide Wi-Fi connection for loyal customers by giving them a loyalty card that
they can have by consecutively buying in our store five or more times. The
proponents are also looking forward on achieving its success when the time pass
by as the business develops and grow more into even larger location.

A5. DEMOGRAPHIC DISPERSION OF THE PRODUCT

Since the business is newly introduced in the market so there's only one
branch that will be produced and is located between Nagpayong Elementary School
and Nagpayong High school.

B. RESEARCH AND METHODOLOGY

SURVEY

The population size of our respondent in Barangay Pinagbuhatan that was

obtain in 2015 Census is 151,979 people..The potential respondents are from all ages,
male and female but the target market will be the teenager students around the
vicinity of our store location. The perception of our customers in our product will be
new, fresh and beyond quality food products.

QUESTIONNAIRE

The questionnaire is primarily consisting of checklist, which is one of the

most popular methods for recording the results of gathered information. Checklists
are also the simplest method for systematizing the questions and answers from the
respondents. Questions can often be measured by listing a set of answers where the
respondents is required to select and simply check the box that corresponds their
answers. Checklist type questionnaire helped the researchers to garner information in
a more convenient way.

MAPPINGS

The location of the store will be placed in front of our group mate’s house
and in the near distance of both Nagpayong Elementary School and High school.

C. DEMAND

Demand is how many goods and services are brought at various prices
during a certain period of time. Demand is the consumer's need or desire to own the
product or experience the service. It is constrained by the willingness and ability of
the consumer to pay for the good or services at the price offered.

The business target market is the people who are residing near Nagpayong
Elementary and Nagpayong High school specifically the students who are studying in
the said schools. It aims to sustain the will of the student to get and afford the best
product of company and also to get relaxed in the good ambiance. The business
serves the customer with high expectations and pleasure of satisfaction and
enjoyment.

The business will be offered for teen’s age from 13 to 19 years old but is
also available for adults that just want to have fun while eating foods from Snack
Chat. It is also segmented for anyone men and women. Foods and drinks are mostly
low cost so anybody can buy it because its price is affordable for the youngsters. The
products are also made for low and middle class group. Snack Chat is also
geographically segmented in the urban area specifically in Pasig City where the
climate is wet and dry. It segmented its product to the people who are leading an
active yet easy go lucky oriented lifestyle. The behavior of the students who are price
sensitive will be also segmented because they are always looking for cheap or
affordable product prices. The prices that is attainable for someone who doesn’t have
a job.

Domestic demand is the total amount of money that is spent on goods and
services by the people, companies, and government within a particular location, or
that would be spent if the goods and services were available. The domestic demand
forecast for the products of Snack Chat will be on Nachos (10%), Calamares (15%),
Kwek-kwek (20%), Graham Balls (15%), Cupcake (6%), Fruit shakes (14%), Buko
Juice (13%) and Lemonade (8%).

D. SUPPLY

Supply can relate to the amount available at a specific price or the amount
available across a range of prices if displayed on a graph. This relates closely to the
demand for a good or service at a specific price; all else being equal, the supply
provided by producers will rise if the price rises because all firms look to maximize
profits.

The direct competitors of Snack Chat in the market are the local street food
stalls near the target area. The size of most competitors as just the same as Snack
Chat. Most of them are also in small type of business. Assessing the quality, most of
the competitors are in middle or low quality section because most of them are on the
street with low cost budget so it can’t really assure the customer that the products are
the same as those in restaurant. These stalls are located in Nagpayong area. Most of
them have already established business compare to Snack Chat which is just starting.
The type of competition is a perfect competition since competitors offered the same
type of products like street foods, desserts and shakes.

Every products or commodities require different components to make a final

product. These components often come from different locations and in this case the
places that will serve as the supplier are in the City of Pasig. The first on the list
would be Pasig Mega Market that offers wholesale and food supply such as meats,
vegetables and fruits. It extends its supply chain that can be used by the proponents in
establishing the business. The other domestic supply in the location would be the
Alternatives Food Corporation (AFC) is a top tier broad line food service supply
integrator based in the Ortigas Business District. The company is a private enterprise
that focused on the compelling need of the local food industry that demanded
stability, quantity and value. . The supply chain will help Snack Chat to provide fresh
and organic ingredients to the customer.

Investments in foreign markets are made to build wealth. As part of this

process, investors must recognize the cultural nuances that separate foreign markets

Page | 11
Arellano University-Andres Bonifacio Campus
THE FEASIBILITY STUDY OF ESTABLISHING SNACK CHAT IN
PINAGBUHATAN, PASIG CITY
from their domestic base. Most of the foreign market that have transactions in the
Philippines are the countries in the Southeast Asian region such as Vietnam,
Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. The Japan External Trade Organization
(JETRO) reported that Philippines become favored country for Japanese
manufacturers given its low production costs. The Jusco Co. Ltd that provides a wide
selection of organically grown and natural foods.

E. DEMAND SUPPLY ANALYSIS

Demand depends on the prices of related commodities and buyers

income/tastes. Supply depends not only on the price obtainable for the commodity but
also on the price obtainable of similar products, techniques of production, the
availability and costs of production. The function of the market is to equalize demand
and supply through the price mechanism. Supply and demand is a fundamental factor
in shaping the character of the market place, for it is understood as the principal
determinant in establishing the cost of goods and services. The availability or
"supply" of goods and services is the key factor in determining the price at which
those goods or services can be obtained.

F. FACTORS AFFECTING THE MARKET

F1. DEMAND

The demand will be affected drastically when the population growth

fluctuates. This will surely have a big impact in the "Snack Chat" business. In relation
with the target market, students/teenagers when their population increases the demand
increase and when it decreases the demand will also decrease. The population is the
key to the demand, more people means more potential buyers and less people means a
leaser potential buyers. Demand will also be affected by other factors but population is
the main factor in demand.

Income affects the demand of Snack Chat products in a sense of different

factors. Since, the target markets of Snack Chat are students/teenager it is obviously
their parents’ income will affect the demand of the business "Snack Chat". When their

Page | 12
Arellano University-Andres Bonifacio Campus
THE FEASIBILITY STUDY OF ESTABLISHING SNACK CHAT IN
PINAGBUHATAN, PASIG CITY
parent’s income increases, the demand in the economy increases and as well as when it
decreases, the demand return will also decreases. When an individual salary increased
his/her capacity to buy or his/her purchasing power will also increase. Since demand is
the willingness of a costumer to buy a commodity at a given price, the purchasing
power increased thus the people have more money to spend with resulting in a higher
demand and vice - versa.

The development in the rural/urban area or a project consisting of one or

more commercial buildings and residential buildings, real estate development will
have a great impact on the demand will of the business. When the rural/urban areas
developed, it means that more spaces in the business area will be opened. If more
business opened at the same time, jobs in those businesses will also be available.
When the rural and urban areas see development, it will show that more money will
enter that area. More money means more products; the result is increased in demand.
People in those areas will need more supplies as their lifestyle and socio-economic
rise.

F2. SUPPLY

The cost of production influences the supply because if the price of raw
materials increases, the capacity to buy those raw materials will then decrease. The
output of the company or its supply will decreased as a result of the increase price of
its cost of production to cope with this kind of dilemma. The businesses have to
increase its price. The reverse effect will then happen if the cost of production
decreases. The amount supplied will is effect increase. So in relation with the business
"Snack Chat" If the cost of fruits, eggs and other ingredients that the business had will
increase the supply will decrease and if the ingredients price decrease the supply or the
output will increase.

In market, profits are most valuable incentives to expand and exits new
business. When, a new business enter to industry it response to increased industry
profits. The process of reducing production in response to business will cease
production and sustained pattern of losses called exit. The business should measure to

Page | 13
Arellano University-Andres Bonifacio Campus
THE FEASIBILITY STUDY OF ESTABLISHING SNACK CHAT IN
PINAGBUHATAN, PASIG CITY
determine if it is gaining profit or not. If the other business fails it is maybe because
they haven't good supply to produce the needs or wants of the costumers. It will fade
away by revising a process. And as long as the profits are still earning profits it will
stay with industry. The government policy should not be taken for granted. The
proponents must provide all the requirements needed so that it doesn't affect the future
of the business.

Nowadays, we can see different innovations of technology that can really

help us to make or household chores easy. Because of this, if the proponents use this
improved technology in the business it can help them to prepare easily. The
proponents can smoothly prepare the foods of the costumers so that it won't take too
for them to wait snack chat will provide the costumers a good and quick service to
make them happy.

F3. PRICE

Price is the amount of money or costs to buy goods or services. When the
raw materials increased the cost from a manufacturing company, the suppliers will
also increase their price in order to gain profit and avoid market failures. Price controls
are government-mandated legal minimum or maximum prices set for specified goods
to manage the affordability of a certain goods. When the legal price is below the
market equilibrium price, the government sets price ceiling. So the suppliers can set
price at the legal maximum price (products or services) goods. And there is a shortage
when producing products. When the supply exceeds and the legal price is above the
market equilibrium price, it sets to price floor. The suppliers are willing to supply
more goods and set the price at a minimum price. In Department of Trade and
Industry, they have policy called “Suggested Retail Price” (SRP). It means that this is
a way to stabilize or keep the goods to be affordable to the consumers.

Inflation is a process that occurs when the purchasing value of a currency is

lowered. When inflation occurs, it increases the prices of commodities. The
consumers are the ones who bear the weight of the increasing of prices in the market.

G. MARKETING STRATEGIES
 Product

The business chooses “calamares” as one of the best product because squid and
octopus is with unique taste and flavor. They impart something like compression of
chewing a chewing gum. They will transform this by using an exceptional breading mix
to make it crunchier and more flavorful.

“Buko juice”, there are some health benefits to drinking coconut water is a natural
way to be hydrated, cut sodium and add potassium to diets.

“Graham Balls” also one of the best product for desert because some brands of
graham crackers contain whole grain ingredients which can help you stay full while
trying to lose weight.

 Positioning

The proponents come up with the idea to have a tagline as a product

positioning to recognize the business. “Satisfy your cravings, forget about diet”,
this states that when you are craving for something and you are on a low-cost
budget or even on a diet, Snackz Chat will provide your desire on food in an
affordable price and it is freshly-made to fulfill your lonely stomach.

The package that the proponent used in product is made up of eco-friendly

style. It aims to preserve the environment and to avoid chemicals daring in
product. The proponent used a different snappy clipart as a package design and
they put some inspirational quotes for students who will buy the product.
Designing package out of biodegradable plastic or paper, that can enhance the
business image with consumer perception and offer and another motivation to buy
the product instead the competitor’s product.

 Politics

The proponents will submit requirements to the government for the

legality and for the cleanliness and the safeness of the food that they serve for the
customers. Different permit/business permit was made to comply such as BIR,
Barangay permit and DTI certificate. It was done so it will help us to avoid
regulatory problems in the future. This business will also audit all its financial
transactions, reports and receipts. Then, the tax incurred in those expenses will be
also reported so this business will prevent tax evasions. This business will also
employ workers at the legal age of 18 and above. In this way the business ensures
that its workers can work without any issues.

Page | 18
Arellano University-Andres Bonifacio Campus

 People

The proponents target market is the teenagers, students and also the people
that is near the location of the business because of its affordable prices, we make
sure that it will click on the customers not just the teenagers but also in all ages.
This business is focusing more on teenagers because most people living in the
vicinity of Snack Chat location are teenager students. Teenagers are also type of
people who doesn’t really care on the food that they eat and just enjoy their life
without restricting themselves to a certain diet.

H. SWOT ANALYSIS
 Strengths

The Snack Chat provides good and delicious snacks when it comes to food
and drinks. The prices of each product are affordable compared to other stores.
The location of the business is accessible enough to meet the target market. The
staffs are very accommodating with the customers and the ambiance of the store
is very relaxing so that they will feel at home. The business has a Wi-Fi
connection which can help them to stress out while they are waiting for their
order. The business also has a special offer during public holiday e.g. Christmas
day, Valentine’s Day.

 Weaknesses

The business’s space is too small for the customers who will come to the
store with their friends and spend their time together. The business is new to the
market. To meet the supply and demand to make a product due to the endless
needs and wants of a customer.

 Opportunities

The wide range of target market will be the opportunity to increase the
profit of the business. To be creative and design that is new to the taste of the
customer in the food and drinks the business offer. In today's society people are

Page | 19
Arellano University-Andres Bonifacio Campus

PINAGBUHATAN, PASIG CITY
becoming more environmentally aware and it has become a trend to purchase
products that are more environmentally friendly. The Snack Chat has a “No
Straw Day” during Wednesday to help the environment.

 Threats

The threats of the business are typically external. The product related to
industry that competitors sell the same product as Snack Chat. The increasing
number of competitions makes it harder for the business to grow more
exponentially. The business will be new in the market, it may easily have good
market standing but it may encounter difficulty in terms of sustaining demand of
the customers that may lead to its saturation point or declining stage.

Figure 4
Kwek-kwek
Ingredients:
• 1 dozen eggs, choose quail or chicken.
• Corn flour for coating.
• Bamboo skewer.
• Oil for deep frying.
•Batter.
• 1 cup plain flour.
•1/2 cup water.
• Salt and pepper to taste.

Page | 21
Arellano University-Andres Bonifacio Campus
THE FEASIBILITY STUDY OF ESTABLISHING SNACK CHAT IN
PINAGBUHATAN, PASIG CITY
Procedures:
1. Place the cornstarch in a container and dredge the boiled quail eggs. Set aside.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and pepper then mix thoroughly.
3. Dilute the annatto powder in warm water then pour-in the mixing bowl with the
other ingredients. Mix well.
4. Place all the quail eggs in the mixing bowl and coat with the batter.
5. Heat the pan and pour the cooking oil.
6. When the oil is hot enough, deep-fry the quail eggs by scooping them from the
mixing bowl using a spoon. Make sure that each is coated with batter.
7. After a few minutes, remove the fried quail eggs from the pan and place in a
serving plate.
8. Serve with vinegar or fish ball sauce while still crispy.
9. Share and Enjoy!

One order of kwek-kwek costs Php15 (5 pieces) or 3 pieces each and arrives as
four little orange-colored eggs on a disposable paper plate. Ladle out a generous amount
of the spicy vinegar (found in a tall plastic container at the side of the cart) and take a
pointy stick to use as skewer. Truth be told, these kwek-kwek were a little stale from
being fried earlier in the day; anything coated with batter and fried would suffer the same
fate. But the quail eggs inside were still flavorful, and the spicy-sour vinegar did its job
and made up for the unimpressive batter. Our verdict? Not bad for cheap food on the run.
Judging from the number of people who went up to the stall at 4pm, kwek-kwek and its
kin are totally acceptable fillers for the sprint between office and dinner at home.

one reason why calamares sell 3 php because of higher prizes of squid that for 2
pesos and for 50%cent is for sour 50%is for the food color .

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lay tortillas on rimmed baking sheet and brush

2. In a medium sized bowl, mix together Parmesan, chili powder, smoked paprika,

Since tortilla chips are a component of nachos, it is obvious that nachos will
always cost more than a similar serving of the tortilla chips alone. It is because, in the
case of chips you simply have to consider the price of the chips, but for nachos, you also
have to keep in view, the prices of all of the other ingredients that you desire to use as
toppings. It is, therefore, no surprise that the price tag on nachos can far exceed the
expense of little tortilla chips. The tortilla chips can be found in the supermarket for as
little as 2.

Figure4.3
Graham Balls
Ingredients:
• 2 (200g) M.Y. San Graham Crushed.
• 1 can Condensed Milk.
• 1 250 ml. Nestle Cream.

1. In a large bowl, add the crushed Grahams, condensed milk, and nestle cream.
Make sure to save some crushed grahams.
2. Stir until all the ingredients blends well.
3. Get a graham mixture with a spoon to make a ball in your hand.
4. Roll the graham ball to the crushed grahams to prevent them from sticking to
each other.
5. Put the chocolate candies or sprinkles on top of the graham ball.
6. Chill and Enjoy!

If you price this product at P5 per piece, you'll be earning a little over 3 times the
amount of your cost. You can wrap these graham balls up in cellophane (like little
candies!) or place them into small boxes or plastic containers for bulk orders. Not bad for
a first timer.

Figure4.4
Cupcakes

• 1 cup milk.
• 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)

1. Set the oven to 190C, gas 5.
2. Tip the butter into a bowl and beat it until softened. Add the sugar, flour, salt,
eggs and milk and whisk until the mixture is smooth.

between all the paper cases.

4. Place both muffin tins in the oven and bake for 15 minutes, then swap over the
position of the tins over and bake for a further 3-7 minutes, until both trays of
cupcakes are a light golden colour.
5. Remove the tins from the oven. Leave the cupcakes to cool in the tins for a few
minutes, and then transfer them to a wire rack to cool.

The cupcakes are best eaten on the day that they're baked, but if necessary, once
cooled, they can be wrapped in freezer bags and frozen for up to 1 month. They will
defrost in about 1 hour. And the prizes of the cupcakes is 6php because this kind of
cupcake is sow affordable the this kind of product is really favorite of children then why
choose this product not only for children and others but to afford of everyone , that thing
5 pesos is contently eating in the half time .

1. First make “simple syrup”. Place the sugar and water in a small saucepan and
bring to a simmer. Stir so that the sugar dissolves completely and remove from
heat.
2. While the water is heating for the simple syrup, juice your lemons. Depending
on the size of the lemons, 4 to 6 of them should be enough for one cup of juice.
3. Pour the juice and the simple syrup sugar water into a serving pitcher. Add 2 to
3 cups of cold water and taste. Add more water if you would like it to be more
diluted (though note that when you add ice, it will melt and naturally dilute the
lemonade). If the lemonade is a little sweet for your taste, add a little more
straight lemon juice to it.

E. UTILITIES REQUIREMENT

 WATER

Page | 40
Arellano University-Andres Bonifacio Campus
THE FEASIBILITY STUDY OF ESTABLISHING SNACK CHAT IN
PINAGBUHATAN, PASIG CITY
The water supply is important specially in establishing the business.
From a healthy and safety perspective, it is important to have access to water for first
aid and basic hygiene especially in urban areas or metropolitan part of the
Philippines. Planning to connect a water pump to your office, will be one of the
choices. But for an easier connection, the best option would be a connection in
Manila Water for the water supply.

 ELECTRICITY

Electricity is one of the necessities that a business need to function.

Without electricity most the business equipments will not function. Electric
consumption will be dependent on the working hours, the longer hour’s means
higher wattage/electricity fees and vice versa. MERALCO is the one and only major
provider of electricity in the country. That’s why Snack Chat will apply for electrical
contract following the government requirements and legalities.

 WIFI CONNECTION/TELECOMMUNICATIONS
In today’s generation, most businesses will group their
telecommunications utilities in one convenient bill. To make the utilities in
telecommunications run smoothly the Snack Chat will avail a plan (Globe
Telecommunications) for monthly fees/ connection. Together with the plan are a
pocket Wi-Fi and a cell phone model.

F. WASTE DISPOSAL

Snack Chat will implement a waste segregation system inside the business store.
The trashes or discarded materials will be separated from: Biodegradable, Non-
biodegradable and other solid wastes will be placed in different containers. Every
Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be the time for the collection of trashes and used
supplies while other dirt will be collected every Tuesday and Thursday. Every 4 hours of
a day will be the time for cleaning; this will imposed to ensure the cleanliness is always
needed to attract more customers. Weekly, general cleaning is also one of the plans of the
business. As always, “cleanliness is next to godliness”, the situation of the business will
reflect those people who works and operates the business.

G. LABOR REQUIREMENT

The proponents will hire 3 people because as a small enterprise we do not much
need to hire more employees. The proponents themselves will be the one who will
manage the everyday operation of the business.

 Position of the Employee

General Manager -Assistant Manager -Supervisor -Cook =Cashier =Utility

 Reason of hiring them

The reason for hiring other employee is because of the following:

Cook/Chef - Cook/chef of course. They are the creative minds behind some of the
greatest dishes ever created. Everyone has to eat, and people want to eat good food.
Chefs/Cooks have the capability to provide that. That is why chefs are important. They
turn something we have to do, eating, into something that we want to do.

Cashier- plays very important role in the business. The job of cashier includes
many things and it is job of accuracy. They have to interact with customer on daily basis
for solving queries, handling money etc. Checking daily cash accounts, Guiding and
solving queries of customer, providing training and assistance to new joined cashier,
maintaining monthly, weekly and daily report of transactions.

Utilities- janitors play a huge role in protecting the health of building occupants.
They prevent the spread of illness and infection, control indoor air quality, and protect the
indoor environment

CHAPTER IV

MANAGEMENT STUDY

A. BUSINESS PROCESS
The outcome of business operation is the way of harvesting of value
from assets owned by a business. The belongings in the business can be physical
or intangible. The effort involved in "harvesting" this value is what constitutes
business operations cycles. A business that can harvest a significant amount of
value from its assets but cannot demonstrate an ability to sustain this effort is not
viable business.
The business will normally open from 7:30 in the morning and will close
down in 7:30 in the evening. As soon as the door was opened, the janitress will
clean the store. With the help of other employee chairs, tables and other
equipment will be set-up. After the things were been settled, the cashier will go to
her designated place. Two lines will be administrated on the cashier’s side for the

Page | 43
Arellano University-Andres Bonifacio Campus

costumers to make an order. After the day had been finished, another clean-up
will be made to ensure the cleanliness and the door will be tightly closed to assure
the security of the business.

B. FORM OF OWNERSHIP

The type of business that the proponents have is sole proprietorship. Sole
Proprietorship is owned by one person or a business that can stand on its own
without a business partners or the help of others. To consider as a legit business
the proponents need to comply all the future it would not affect the business. The
proponents will submit Sanitary Permit, Mayors Permit, Business Permit, BIR
and DTI permit as a proof of the legalization of the business.
