Break yarn, leaving tail. Place the first and last 2 stitches of the row on holder or scrap yarn.
Reintroduce thread and work the middle 4 stitches, starting on right side. You can knit the
following portion flat or use double-pointed needles to work an i-cord.

tighten. Place the remaining bottom stitches

steps for the remaining fin.

If knitting flat, stitch each half of the tail closed.

FINISHING:

Stitch the body closed using mattress

stitch. Fill lightly as you progress with
the sewing.

When you get to the head, make the

eyes. Begin by using a small
embroidery needle threaded with very
light-weight white or yellow thread to
form a series of small chain stitches in
a tight closed circle. Pull all excess
thread through to the interior. Use the
black embroidery thread to make a
single stitch in the center of the white
circle. Repeat on the opposite side.
Tuck in all loose ends and finish sewing
the head shut.

Enjoy your Anchovy! For best results, be sure to use light-weight

thread for the embroidery portion!
