Refrain from getting involved in poor Shop behavior, this includes pushing, not obeying etc.

No Opened-toed shoes inside the shop

No loose, baggy, or hanging clothing


No headphones while operating machinery

Pants are recommended rather than shorts

Know where emergency stop buttons are located


Know where the med kits are located
Know where exits and fire extinguishers are

Secure your parts

ensure part is secured in table or base


Vises on a machines table much be clamped to a tabled

Proper ventilation systems keep you healthy


Pay attention, ask questions, seek help
Use the correct tool/machine for the job
Do not operate alone in the shop

Do not talk or distract someone while they operate a tool

No Horseplay Allowed
Always have a student or mentor in the shop when operating machinery

Do not use machine with out instructor permission

Guards are placed on tools and machines for your safety, Do not alter or remove them

Keep floors free from backpacks and debris

Never sit on power-machinery


Have the instructor double check your setup

Make sure the switch is "off" position before plugging in any power tool.

Report damaged tools to instructor at once. This will keep other students from possible serious injury.

Let the instructor know immediately if you get injured

Caution another student if you seem them doing something dangerous, Let the instructor know
Sharp tools are safer and take less effort than a tool that is dull, let the instructor know if a tool is dull

You must pass the safety tests for machines before you are allowed to operate a machine.
