there is a written accent, the stress is placed on the syllable with

2. Practice reading aloud. Try to record your voice and play it

1. Try to gain a general understanding/the main idea of the passage.

2. While preparing, if you encounter a word that you find difficult to
pronounce:
a. break the word into syllables, then pronounce slowly for the first
time. Repeat the syllables a little faster for the second time, then
faster and faster until you are saying the word fluently.
b. Repeat the word/s until you are comfortable with saying them.
Then repeat the phrase in which they are located, then
read the complete sentence.

correctly, you need to read as fluently as possible.

6. Look out for cognates, or words that closely resemble the English

entering the examination room.

try to calm yourself.

4. Read at a comfortable and reasonable pace, not too fast or not

too slow.

5. Pay attention to punctuation. Pause at commas, and make a

longer pause at the full stops.

7. If you make an error and correct yourself, you will not be

penalised.

8. Again, remember to breathe!

 Children Benefit From Doing Chores At An Early Age

Un error que cometen los padres de familia es que no involucran a sus hijos en las
tareas del hogar. Los niños si necesitan dedicar tiempo a los deberes escolares, pero no
es escusa para no ayudar en los quehaceres de la casa.

Ayudar en casa les enseña a ser responsables y más independientes. Además mejora su
autoestima, aprenden a trabajar en equipo y son más organizados. Si su hijo nunca le ha
ayudado en el hogar, es momento de cambiar esa situación. Hable con él y explíquele
que los hijos también deben cooperar con las labores domésticas.

Es importante que se acerque a él con una actitud agradable pero con fuerza. El niño
puede comenzar haciendo las tareas que mejor le parezcan, y poco a poco ayudará en
otras. Recuerde que hay ciertas actividades para cada edad.
