Duties & Responsibilities
Town Planner, Group - A, (Gazetted) Urban Development Department
Special Land Acquisition Officer/Town Planner (Class – I)
In The Cadre Of Deputy Collector (Technical)
1) Special Land Acquisition Officers
To perform duties of the collector in respect of Land Acquisition work under the provisions of
Land Acquisition Act, 1894 and to declare final awards after deciding the valuation, ownership rights
etc. in respect of the lands under acquisition.
2) Town Planner (Class – I in the cadre of Dy. Collector)
To scrutinize the draft awards prepared by the Special Land Acquisition Officers under the
provisions of Land Acquisition Act, 1894 in respect of land values and other items of the draft awards
before according final sanction thereto by Collector/Commissioner. To assist the
Collector/Commissioner in taking decision in the matter.
3) Urban Basic Services Project Coordinator
(Class- I in the cadre of Deputy Collector) (Technical)
(officer on this post is being posted by Collector)
To monitor the implementation of small and medium Town development scheme under the
assistance of UNICEF
To arrange training classes for Bal-sevikas and Municipal Engineers etc., to give help in
kinds of the voluntary agencies. To prepare programs in improving environmental
sanitation, health, water supply and primary education etc.
4) Town Planner (Court Reference)(Technical) Class – I
(In the cadre of Deputy Collector)
To assist the District Government Pleader, Pune in the Land Reference cases filed in the Court
and to prepare the required Technical Valuation reports/notes thereof.
5) Town Planner (Technical) Class – II (Gazetted)
1) To deal with and assist in all matters pertaining to Planning and Valuation of lands and buildings
including –
i) Preparation of Regional Plans, Development Plans, Town Planning schemes, layout of
lands, village plans.
ii) Valuation and Acquisition of lands and buildings, rating under the Municipal Act,
estimating rates of non – agricultural assessment etc.
2) To work as Officer in charge of any Branch Office of Town Planning and Valuation Department,
if so appointed and to carry out such other duties in connection with planning, valuation and
acquisition of land as may be assigned by Government from time to time.
3) As a District Town Planner to keep a close liaison with all the Municipal Councils in the
District by frequent visits for reviewing, monitoring and co-ordinating the work of preparation and
implementation of Development Plans, Town Planning Schemes, Integrated Urban Development
Project Schemes, Exercise of development, control, unauthorised constructions, etc. and to see that
the funds sanctioned to the Municipal Councils under Plan Scheme for those projects are poperly
utilised and the Development Plan works are executed properly.
