people to take positive actions for global climate
justice.

 GLOBAL YOUTH CLIMATE ACTION INITIATIVE
The Global Youth Climate Action Initiative (Climate Action
Group, as it is famously known) is a  nongovernmental
global organisation with primary focus on climate action
and sustainable development. The organisation engages in
raising awareness on climate change, advocacy, youth
mobilisation and empowerment for climate action and
sustainable development.
We work as a network of individual volunteers, as well as
partner and supporter groups. We currently have
existence in Morethan 60 countries and 36 States of
Nigeria with up to 1000 Ambassadors, 3,500 Members and
10,000 Volunteers across the world. In addition, the
Organisation is already into partnership with more than
80 Governmental and Non-Governmental organizations
across the globe including the International Human Rights
Commission, the Clean Up the World Australia and the
Federal Ministry of Environment Nigeria.

CAG works at three levels:

As a network of individuals enabling people to come
together and work at grassroot levels,to form
friendships and support each other.
As a network of partner and supporter groups who
bring together their strengths and passion for
environment and sustainable development.
As an organisation that runs its own
programmes/projects as well as participates in and
supports programmes/campaigns of other relevant
organisations.
 Where we operate:
Climate Action Group operates across a geo-scheme
of six regions:
Africa, Europe, West Asia, Asia Pacific, Latin America
& the Caribbean, and North America.

 OBJECTIVES:
To sensitise our teeming youths on the phenomenon of
Climate Change, its causes & effects, as well as measures
for mitigating climate change;
To facilitate the voice of the marginalised majority from
specific local contexts to be considered for policy action;
To undertake research and documentation on the issues
relating to climate change, sustainable communities and
its implications especially for marginalised communities;
To undertake educational and other programmes with,
and on behalf, of marginalised social groups and
communities on causes, responses and other dimensions
of climate justice;
To explore and undertake pilot initiatives towards
promotion of sustainable development technologies and
eco-friendly practices;
To encourage governments, corporations, individuals,
and especially building industries and their professionals,
to adopt smart building technologies, and clean
renewable energy;
To develop standard environmental ethics for individuals
and corporate bodies;
To shape perceptions of the youths around this agenda
specifically on the key issue of social justice;
To encourage youths participation in public policy
development and implementation.
 SOME OF OUR KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
Organizing the First Africa Youth Climate Action Summit 2020,
#AYCAS2020, the first of its kind in Nigeria, with the hope to
receive delegates from more than 100 countries across the
globe.
Organization of campaign on “Good Environmental Practices
and Climate Change Awareness” for primary and secondary
schools in more than 60 countries across the world and 36
States of Nigeria.
Organization of nationwide awareness campaign on “Good
Environmental Practices” tagged #Environmental Awareness
Campaign, the first of its kind in Nigeria, with an audience of
more than 40,000 primary school pupils.
Organization of national “Tree Planting Campaign” tagged
#CAGTrees aimed at planting 1,000,000 trees in strategic
locations throughout Nigeria to check desertification.
CAG's plan to raise one hundred million seedlings to cover two
hundred hectares of land targeting 5 hectares in 50 cities
globally. which was Commenced in Bauchi and Sokoto State
Nigeria, the CAG plans to organize a Memorable tree plantation
campaign worldwide. This is part of the group's effort to
mitigate the effect of climate change around the world.
Climate Action Group Sokoto in Collaboration with NEWMAP
Sokoto Planning to 2000 Tree Seedlings Plantation Campaign
in each of the 23 Local Government of Sokoto State Nigeria. On
25/06/2020 Was Commenced in Yabo Local Government
Have Planted 2000 Trees and 5000 In Kalambaina New
Housing Estate Sokoto On 01/07/2020
Additional, in the  WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY (WED) 2020
The Global Youth Climate Action Initiative (Climate Action
Group) has organized 3 Webinars and 2 Programs across the
World to mark the celebration of World Environment Day.
Establishes Environmental Clubs with the Name “Climate
Action Group” in selected Primary and Secondary Schools
nationwide. We use football game for climate awareness
among young people. The action idea is since youth are
attracted to football all over the world, why not use this game
in order to inform and sensitize the youth on questions of
climate change and climate protection? The jerseys used,
banners,or other well-seen materials carry along some
statements regarding climate action. This is symbolic of
everyday life, the ongoing silent climate change that is hardly
present.
the CAG plans to train at least 3000 members globally for
Youth Empowerment on Climate Action.
Organization of environmental waste recycling youth
empowerment programme in Bauchi State, Nigeria, for 320
members tagged #ClimateAction and #CAGBauchi in 2019-
2020.
CAG, Nigeria in Collaboration with the EHORECON (Federal
Ministry of Environment) during the surveillance exercise
aimed at containing the spread of COVID19 amongst SSCE
candidates at 19, 000 WAEC Centers Nationwide.
