EXT: Narrow alley – night

The alley is situated in a normal British estate with houses on either side. There is a
single street light illuminating a small part of the alley. We can see a dark figure
moving from the other end of the alley towards the camera, he is silhouetted against
the light as he moves into the pool of light two people of large build come into view
walking fast from behind the camera and the original figure looks up in their
direction. As he looks up the light briefly shines onto his face and we see a worried
expression as if he recognises the men. He quickly turns to run but it’s to late and he
gets stabbed letting out a bloodcurdling scream.

INT: Inspectors bedroom – night

The inspector is laying in his bed with his partner. His phone begins to ring and he sits
up turning his bed side light on.

Inspector Stevens
(Rubbing eyes and sighs as he answers the phone) Yes. Inspector Stevens

Inaudible speech from the phone

Inspector Stevens
(Long sigh and slumps back) Ok give me a bit

He puts the phone back on the table and lifts himself out of bed

Inspectors wife
(We hear her start moving and her light turns on as well) What’s going on love?
Inspector jones
(Starting to get dressed) Duty calls I’ll be back tomorrow

End.

EXT: The road by the alley – night

We start in the inspectors car as he pulls up. There are already police cars there and
policer tape surrounds the scene. The Inspector gets out and walks to one of the
responding officer.
Inspector Stevens
(Shakes officers hand) Give me the rundown then.

Responding officer
(Walking with inspector towards the alley) The body was discovered at around 1:45
by those people over there (points at a group of young people dressed for a night out).
Forensics are trying to work out a more accurate time of death.

Inspector Stevens
(signalling at surrounding houses) Anyone from these houses come forward with
anything yet?

Responding officer
No, nothing yet everyone was asleep, but that house over there (points to one opposite
the alley) has cameras facing up the road.

Inspector Stevens
Has anything come up on it?

Responding officer
It shows a black Audi parking just up the road then two people dressed in black get
out and walk towards the alley, we can’t get a clear view if the face yet.

They are now standing at the end of the alley

Inspector Stevens
(Takes a look towards the body then back to the officer) Ok thanks for that, get the
recording into evidence and we’ll see if we can review it later.

The responding officer nods and turns away. Inspector Stevens waves over the head
forensics investigator.

Inspector Stevens
(Nods at forensics) What information do we have so far?

Forensics investigator
Well we believe he was murdered between 12:30 and 1 which matches up with what
was seen on the cctv. He has multiple stab wounds in his belly and chest area. It was a
messy job and it didn’t seem like they knew where to aim and just left him to bleed
out.

Inspector Stevens
Not a nice way to go. Do we have an identity on the body yet?

Forensics investigator
Yeah, he had a wallet that contained some identification. He’s a 17-year-old called
Joe Willis, he comes up as a bit of a nobody to be honest. He’s dropped out of school
and only lives with his mum.

Inspector Stevens
Alright I’ll look into that then.
