TOA Performance Task: A Retrospective Collection

GATEWAY & RUBRICS

You are placed within groups and tasked to put together a thematic Retrospective Digital Exhibition using slides.
At the end of this task, you shall have:
 Gained an in-depth understanding of the curatorial work for commercial, private, and public expositions
 Proven the value and impact of art as a tool for cultural and societal development
 Been able to archive artworks using valuable contextual information

A. THEME & VENUE. Major curatorial consideration must be given to (1) the theoretical venue where the pieces shall be
mounted and (2) the theme of the entire collection.

C. GROUP ROLES. Each team member must take on any of the following roles:
 Champion serves as the project manager who is in charge of liaising with the teacher and the team in terms of
organisation and submission.
 Curator ensures that the artworks are selected according to the theme. The curator is also responsible for writing the
Exhibition Notes – a 3-paragraph summary or introduction to the collection aimed at educating or briefing the viewer of
the works.
 Designer gathers all the screened art and related information and creates the appropriate layout.
