liters of water in the finishing process. By the end of 2019, 69 percent of Levi’s® bottoms products
were made with Water<Less® techniques, and expect that number to keep climbing.

Water less
Levi's set out to solve the unsustainable consumption of water in a portion of the lifecycle they could
control: their manufacturing process. In 2011, Levi's debuted Water<Less Jeans, a collection that utilizes
over 20 separate innovative finishing techniques that average a water savings of 28% to 96% between
styles.

• Less is More. Water<Less products reduce the use of water in the finishing process by up to
96% for some styles. Levis has already made more than 13 million Water<Less products and
saved over 172 million liters of water. That's just the beginning as they are committed to making
more Water<Less products.

• More than 3,000 liters of water are used during the full product cycle of a single pair of Levi's®
501 jeans. Found that 49% of this water is used to grow the cotton and 45% is used when our
customers wash their jeans. The remaining 6% is used during the manufacturing process of the
jean.

• LS & Co. will work with key suppliers that represent 80 percent of total product volume to set and achieve
specific water use targets for factories where Levi’s®, Dockers®, Signature by Levi Strauss & Co.™ and
Denizen® fabrics and products are made or finished. The targets will be based on the water context at the
local level, with more stringent targets for facilities located in more highly-stressed countries, which will
help us meet our goal of halving our water use in manufacturing in areas of high water stress by 2025.

Water<Less® techniques or recycled water.Going forward, factories and mills that meet the targets that LS&Co.
issues will qualify as Water<Less®, as will the fabric or products coming from those facilities. Anyone who buys a
Water<Less® product can therefore be assured that it was made at a facility that is
using water sustainably in the context of local water stress. LS&Co. will help all its key suppliers
``achieve the Water<Less® designation by 2025.
