screening and other projects of the Institute. Reports directly to the Director of the Newborn Screening
and Reference Center. Coordinates with other constituent members, institutions and departments on
policies, procedures and program implementation. Current Projects include in vitro evaluation of
hemolytic effects of commonly used drugs and foods in Filipinos with glucose-6-phosphate deficiency,
systematic review of enzyme replacement therapy in lysosomal storage diseases, folic acid deficiency
and cost-benefit analysis of once-weekly supplementation and legislative/policy papers.
