A FISH FOR THE FAMILY

“Barato ra, lab as na!, Unsa pa ang gipaabot ninyo palit na!” an iconic line that remains a
trademark in her selling but behind the powerful voice is a dark mask of her life. She is
Nay Rosa, a single parent of four and the sole breadwinner in the family. When the
pandemic strikes, she needs to work hard for her family even if her life is at stake, day
and night she strives hard just to provide food for the rumbling stomach of her children.
She cries but she stands up, she falls but she holds on, she stumbles a lot of times due to
the challenges of life but she keeps on going for she believes, “Kani tanan pagsulay ra sa
kagamhanan”. Her faith overpowers her struggles that’s why she is here, “Suki! Naa koy
bag-o na isda!”, delivering another tagline for her customer, an unsung hero in this
pandemic.
A woman stares off into the distance worrying about what tomorrow holds for her and
her family. Although the circumstances are dire, provision is of utmost importance. Not
only does she provide nourishment for her family, but also for those who buy her
produce. An unsung hero, most are oblivious to the risks she is putting herself in. A
display of strength and perseverance.

QUAGMIRE
KEEP MOVING FORWARD

The creaking sound of his fruit cart was covered by the noise of large vehicles but this
repeating thought in his head seems to be louder, “My wife and my children, are they
doing fine right now?”. His goal isTITLE FOR
to sell THISfruits
these PIC and be able to provide enough
money for their daily living, now he is running out of time. Normally regular customers
come by every time he sets his fruit stand on his regular post, and now, streets are empty
and people are at their homes. “I’ll sell these without delay or else it will rot, I must earn, I
must move...” His determination fills his own stomach and being tired is not in his
vocabulary. He asks for strength from God, love that flows in him like a fuel that keeps
him going and as he took a step forward, he reminded himself of the reason why he
started.
A sedulous mother preparing to sell her fish, has a quest to sell it all before she returns
home. She was forced to work to support her family and provide the essentials of her
customers even at the expense of her life. Anyone whose interest is the wellbeing of
others rather than the individual during these trying times is inspiring. It’s so important
to step back and look at the bigger picture. And this is a great representation of our
FORCE behind the scene.

ON A FISHIN' MISSION

Almost seven months in quarantine, Emma’s husband lost his job so she opted to
sell hanging rice (AKA “puso”) again even with fear of acquiring covid-19. She wakes up
