Q1: “Forces are vectors and vectors addition is associative”. What does this statement mean? ( Feel free to

Q2: Ropes P and Q are attached to an eye bolt on the edge of a machine as shown in the sketch below. Rope P
pulls on the bolt with a force of 2.3kN while Q pulls with 5.9kN. Rope P makes and angle of 80° to the
horizontal. If the resultant of P and Q is found to be 6.2kN on the bolt, find the angle the resultant force makes
with the horizontal.

Q3: Determine the resultant of the three concurrent forces shown below.
