1) Company Profile and Job Scope

Vanguard Interiors (KL) Sdn Bhd was incorporated to provide innovative and
technologically advanced commercial interior products to established and growing
companies in Malaysia. Our main objective is to meet the need of business that expects
the highest quality and standard in office interior requirements.

Job Scope

a) To check job site and do floor marking to ensure area involved is correct as per
EHS approved plan.
b) To install workstation (as per WMS/EHS approved plan)
c) To relay out of cubicle, panel partition etc. as per requestor requirement and as
according to EHS approved plan.

2) Equipment, materials, chemicals, hand tools used for


work/projects are as follows :-

a) Battery operated power drill (for securing worksurfaces)


b) Hand held screw drivers (for panels installation)
c) Hand held crow bar (for panels adjustments)
d) Rubber head hammer (for panels accessories installation)
e) Pliers (for panels accessories installation)
f) Wooden trolleys (for panels / accessories shifting and etc.)
 All our tools are checked daily. Any defective tools will be replaced immediately.
 We do not use any chemicals in our job scope
 Materials uses are metal panel frames with fabric elements and wood base work
surfaces for the formation of workstation.

3.6 Warning Signs

Warning, safety and security signs, notice and barriers are posted where
appropriate. They must be observed and followed. When performing works
that exposed to hazards, warning signs, barriers or barricades are to be
displayed. Where sign and barricades do not provide adequate protection,
particularly along a roadway or sidewalk, flagmen or other additional
protection must be used.
3.7 Personal Protective Equipment

All workers are required to wear safety shoes when performing any works in
Agilent. Safety Helmets are compulsory for any work or services performed
for building operation and works of Engineering construction. Safety
Helmets are also to be used in areas where ceiling work is in progress.
The type of PPE required will be determined by our Safety officer (based on
the degree of exposure to the potential hazard) and Agilent safety
requirements.
All workers are provided with required PPE, they are trained to use and care.
They are not allowed to use any Agilent safety equipment unless a critical
need exists and the use must be approved by Agilent Safety Representative.
All posted requirement of PPE for use are to be followed while on Agilent
premises.
3.8 Confined Spaces

A confined space permit is required before job commencement


Confined spaces include storage tanks, bins, sewers, in-ground vaults,
tunnels, manholes, pits and other locations where ventilation is inadequate
and hazardous gases, vapors or particulates are present.
Must not put any materials at confined spaces. Breathing apparatus must be
provided if clean air is insufficient in the space.

3.9 Vehicle Safety (Industrial Truck, Crane)

Contractors are allowed to park their vehicles in authorized areas only.


Parking in reserved area, sidewalks, roadways & red curb zones is
prohibited. Improperly parked vehicles will be cited and fined. Loading
docks are to be used for loading and unloading only.
Maximum speed limit allowed in Agilent parking lots and roadways is
15km/hour.

3.10 Housekeeping

Work area must be kept neat and orderly at all times.


Aisles and other working surfaces must be kept free of equipments, tools,
materials and debris. Must not allow tools, equipment and materials to
impact areas occupied by Agilent employees.
To make sure all extension cords and hoses are arrange properly so no one
trip over.
To clean up all liquid and spills immediately.
Must not store tools or materials on top of suspended ceiling panels.
Debris and scrap materials from the job must be cleaned up on a regular
basis.

Standard work operating procedure

a. Project coordinator/supervisor to contact job requestor / user upon request to


identify scope of work

b. Supervisor to perform the procedure stipulated in the Contractor Safety Program


and Employee Requirements.

c. To ensure all Vanguard Interiors (KL) Sdn Bhd employee comply with minimum
age required in Health and Safety Laws and Regulations and also must be
medically fit for work

d. Our safety officer will ensure that all necessary information, instructions, approval
from respective personnel in charge is gathered before any project/job starts or being
carried out. Safety officer will then give a full briefing on job specification to the
subordinates / employees. Safety Officer will also have to get clearance from job
requestor (e.g. Managers, Engineers or JCI representative) on whether or not the job site
is ready to work on. All work is not to be carried out without proper approval/consent
from Agilent project coordinator (WPS/EHS Dept)

Schedule of work are as follows :-


a) Check job site with JCI personnel
b) Do necessary floor marking (positioning of workstation)
c) Install workstation / panel partition (as per WPS/EHS approved plan)
d) Relay out of workstation/cubicle etc
e) To inform / check job site with JCI personnel upon completion of work.

and Safety Policy

Agilent will create the health and safety practices and work environments that
enable our people to work free from injury and illness. To achieve this result,
we will :

 Assure managers and employees are trained and accountable for


preventing work-related injuries and illness.

 Ensure Agilent Technologies operations comply with applicable


occupational health and safety regulations.

 Operate an occupational health and safety management system that


includes providing accurate information about health and safety
aspects of our operations and maintain the practice of continual
improvement

 Promote wellness programs that contribute to the productivity, health


and well-being of employee.

 Inform suppliers including contractors of our occupational health and


safety expectations and require them to adopt sound occupational
health and safety management practices.
3.12 Safety Procedures
All workers are trained in the safety and health aspects of their job and have
attended the Agilent Contractor Safety training and are informed of the
nature and hazards of the materials which they are working with. To ensure
safety procedures are applied at all time. Unsafe act will not be tolerated.
General practices at worksite :-

a) To conduct safety inspections and ensure all safety procedures are


adhered at worksite;

b) To ensure that safety violations are not violated;

c) To ensure work activities engaged do not adversely impact the quality


of indoor air;

d) To ensure all warning, safety and security signs are displayed at all
times at job site;

e) To barricade the worksite using demarcation tapes during ongoing


work progress and to keep unauthorized people out;

f) Extra safety measures must be taken when shifting materials


especially along the corridors/passage. To take additional precautions
to protect people from tripping should the need to used extension
cords across and aisle arises and approval from Project/Facilities
Coordinator and EHS must be obtain in prior.

g) Daily house keeping to be carried out on all work areas e.g.


i. Aisle and other working surfaces must be kept free of equipment,
tools, materials and debris.
ii. Tools, equipment, materials are not allowed to impact areas
occupied by Agilent employees.
iii. Debris and scrap materials from the job site must be cleaned up on
regular basis.

iv. To take additional precautions to protect people from tripping


should the need to used extension cords across and aisle arises and
approval from Project/Facilities Coordinator and EHS must be
obtain in prior.
v. To ensure job site are clean at all times

h) To ensure all the daily balance materials (e.g. panels, accessories) are
properly stored to comply with building and fire codes, and to avoid a
hazard to Agilent employees and others.

i) All employees must be equipped with necessary Personal Protective


Equipment (PPE) while working.

j) All employees are required to wear identification badges and


company attire.

k) All employees must adhere to Agilent Disciplinary Rules &


Regulation. Failing to comply will face immediate
suspension/termination :-

i) Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are strictly prohibited


ii) Smoking is not allowed in Agilent buildings except at designated
smoking area
iii) Sleeping and gambling are not allowed
iv) No unruly behavior will be tolerated

Follow your escort / host evacuate from the building via nearest emergency exit
Assemble at the nearest assembly area & stay away from road
Report to assembly area coordinator (with vest) if you are injured

Safety Officers must report any near misses, incident or accident related to
contractor activities to Agilent Project Owner/Coordinator & EHS
Safety Officers must investigate all accidents to determine the cause(s) and
develop a plan to prevent a recurrence. All serious or potentially serious
accidents on Agilent will be investigated jointly with Agilent Project
Owner/Coordinator & EHS

5.5 Emergency Response Equipment


For minor injuries like accidental small cuts we have a First Aid Kit on
standby.
