Contemplate the Ten Commandments

Psalm 51
A Prayer of Repentance

Have mercy upon me, O God,

According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
And cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions,
And my sin is always before me.
Against You, You only, have I sinned,
And done this evil in Your sight—
That You may be found just when You speak,
And blameless when You judge.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me.
Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,
And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me hear joy and gladness,
That the bones You have broken may rejoice.
Hide Your face from my sins,
And blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners shall be converted to You.
Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
The God of my salvation,
And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.
O Lord, open my lips,
And my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You do not delight in burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.
Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion;
Build the walls of Jerusalem.
Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness,
With burnt offering and whole burnt offering;
Then they shall offer bulls on Your altar.

Contemplate the sacrifice Jesus made for us upon the cross. Christ is our
Passover - he is the way we are saved from slavery to sin, just as the Israelites
were delivered by God out of Egypt.

Sermon on the Mount
Romans 8

Matthew 26:26, "While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a
blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is My
body.”’

John 6:51
“If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is
My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

Luke 22:19 “Do this in remembrance of Me.”

Matthew 26:27–28 “And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it
to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant,
which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins."

Luke 22:19 “Do this in remembrance of Me.”

John 6:53-58
Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh
of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My
flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
For My flesh is true food indeed, and My blood is true drink indeed. He who eats
My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father
sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live
because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your
fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

John 6:35
“I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who
believes in Me shall never thirst.”

1 Corinthians 5 “For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.”

1 Pet. 2:24, "and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we
might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed."

1 Peter 1:18–19 “You were not redeemed with corruptible things…but with the
precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot”.

John 1:29 “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Supplementary verses on communion:

1 John 1:7, "but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all
sin."

Luke 22:15–16 “With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you
before I suffer,” He said to His disciples, “for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it
until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God”.

1 Corinthians 11:23–26, "For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered
to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and
when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for
you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way He took the cup also after
supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as
you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink
the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes."

Heb. 7:27, "[Jesus] "who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up
sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this
He did once for all when He offered up Himself."
