BIOGRAPHICAL DATA

On the 23rd day of May 1999, I was born as the youngest, cutest and smartest

among the four children of Mr. and Mrs. Gaudencio and Rosemarie Canizo. I was

given the name Rhea Trina A. Canizo; who already existed almost 20 years in this

world. I was born at Dasmariňas, Cavite but I am currently residing at General

Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Cavite.

I obtained my primary education at Hinundayan Central School (HCS) at

Hinundayan Southern Leyte, in the year 2011. I am very active during my primary

years of schooling. I joined different clubs which includes drama, dancing and

journalism club which hone my skills especially in dancing. Meanwhile, I started my

first year in secondary education at Lungsodaan National High School (LNHS), at

Hinundayan, Southern Leyte, as one of the students from the special science class,

however, due to some conflicts that occurred within our family, they have decided to

transfer me here in Cavite. I continued and finished my secondary education at

General Mariano Alvarez Technical High School (GMATHS), GMA, Cavite, in 2015. I

have had some hard times in adjusting with the dialect, the environment and the

people, at first, but I have successfully overcome those hardships.

In the year 2015, a man close to my heart pushed me to take Bachelor of

Secondary Education – major in English at Cavite State University, Carmona

Campus. Sadly, this man, my father, who pushed me in this program, passed away

in the same year. I made him my inspiration to continue and strive harder in order for

me to finish our dream. I am proud to say that I am a consistent academic scholar in

our campus, an active secretary of the Future Educator’s Society organization and a

compassionate future educator honed with skills.

There are uncountable hurdles I have encountered not just in studying but

also in life. However, these challenges made me stronger to continue striving for

more. Now, this year 2019, is a great year for me as I become one of the graduates

III
in the degree Bachelor of Secondary Education, with specialization in English of

Cavite State University – Carmona.

LETTER TO THE READERS

Dear readers,

Students-Teaching Program is a practical training for the student teachers to

undergo and put into practice their pedagogical knowledge in the actual field of

teaching. It gives way to all future educators to have a two-way process of learning in

the teaching field. The student teachers provide best learning practices to the

students with different needs. In the practice teaching program, the student teachers

gather new pedagogical strategies conducive to the next chapter of their teaching

profession.

This narrative tells my practice teaching journey. It shows the pedagogical

strategies I have used and the modifications I have considered. It also includes the

relationship I have established within the cooperating school, with the cooperating

teacher and with the students. It does not only include the products, lesson plans,

evaluation sheets, letters, photo documentations and daily journals I have written. but

it also includes the story behind the struggles and learnings I have experienced in my

entire practice teaching. All the accounts included in this narrative shows the

problems I have seen and encountered in the actual classroom setting and how I

successfully dealt with it.

All the records I have included in this narrative would be a great help to all the

readers to have an overview regarding the practice teaching program. I hope this

compilation of experiences I made would inspires you to strive more in the field of

teaching. Thank you for investing your time in reading my practice teaching portfolio.

Enjoy!

RHEA TRINA A. CANIZO

V
ACKNOWLEDGMENT

The three-month pre service training I had was such a great experience. It

was quite a challenging journey but through the motivations and supports I gained, I

made it until the end. Everything will not be possible without the guidance and help of

several people. Through this part of my narrative, I would like to show my sincerest

gratitude to those who supported me as I walked through the starting gate of this

journey, until I reached the extremity.

First and foremost, I would like to thank God for his unwavering love,

guidance, and support before, during and after my practice teaching journey. I will

probably not surmount all the challenges without the strength, intelligence and

determination that he showered upon me.

I would like to extend my warmest thanks to the following significant people

who helped me a lot in accomplishing my practice teaching journey:

Cavite State University – Carmona Campus faculty and staff who equipped

me with the knowledge and skills which became very useful during my pre-service

training;

Ms. Jocelyn B. Siochi, department chair of Teacher Education, who never

failed to motivate and encourage, not just me, but all the other student teachers;

Mr. Glenn Christian Orig, who guided me as well as the other pre-service

teachers with some of his encouraging words and for randomly visiting us in our

cooperating schools;

Risen Christ Catholic School headed by Ms. Corazon Chavez, school

director, who accommodated me as well as my co-student teachers doubtlessly and

in giving me the chance to learn and experience the actual field of teaching;

VI
Ms. Leovane Comia, cooperating teacher, who taught me with the things that

I needed as a future educator, and who shared wonderful life lessons. I would also

like to thank her for being so generous and considerate;

Ms. Helen Ferrer, who always inspired me to be at my best at all times and

who reminded me to enjoy life no matter how many problems I may be dealing with;

Ms. Jennalyn Tayam, narrative adviser and English critic, who always shows

kindness and always understands the struggles and hardships of her advisees;

the students of Grade 6 – Stephen, Grade 7 – Genesis, Grade 8 – Leviticus,

Grade 9 – Jonas and Grade 10 – Joshua, who became part of my first teaching

experiences, and who showed me love, cooperation and support all throughout my

practice teaching journey;

my family, who supported my practice teaching journey financially and morally

and for never leaving me behind;

my dear Team Tigas, who are always there for me no matter how hard we

have been through. We might be separated by distance but the love and support

could always felt by heart; and

Team RCCS also known as JAKTRIP, who I shared all the struggles and

successes during my practice teaching journey with.

All of my accomplishments would be impossible without the aforementioned

people who honed my skills for me to become what I am now. They are the reason

why I am where I am now.
