Special Unique weld numbers for all welds Unique weld numbers for all welds Unique weld numbers for all welds Unique weld numbers for all welds

Primary One weld number for all fillet welds (2) One weld number for all fillet welds (1) (2) One weld number for all fillet welds (2) One weld number for all fillet welds (1) (2)
One weld number for all butt-/full pen. welds (2) One weld number for all butt-/full pen. welds (1) (2) One weld number for all butt-/ full pen. welds (2) One weld number for all butt-/full pen. welds (1) (2)

Secondary One weld number for all welds (2) One weld number for all welds (2) One weld number for all welds (2) One weld number for all welds (2)

(1) Consideration should be taken to split up weld number into Example: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3....1.n.
several sub numbers for easier identification (if need for
repair etc.).

(2) For welding of construction to structure with higher Example: Foundation defined as SC-III is welded to
inspection category, NDT of connecting welds shall be as for structure defined as SC-II. Welds connecting parts for
highest category. foundation to be inspected as for IC-III. Welds connecting
foundation to structure to be inspected as for IC-II.

(3) Inspection structural category to be stated on drawing : Typical inspection structural class to be stated in notes. If
IC-I : Class 1 (Special) certain welds shall have a higher IC, this is to be stated on
the weld symbol.
IC-II: Class 2 (Primary)
IC-III: Class 3 (Secondary)

IC: Inspection structural category

SC: Structural category
