5th Readiness Update Report

Navotas City
Division: _____________________

The first report that all ROs have submitted provided us with an overall picture of where we are in our
preparations for the August 24 school year opening. We were able to identify gaps and areas of
improvements and draw action points to address challenges.

Since we are getting closer to August 24, we need to closely monitor the progress of our preparations
on a weekly manner to make adjustments, when necessary. The preparation of second report will use
the same template with some modification in the PRINTING OF MODULES to capture the readiness for
the FIRST QUARTER in order to quickly address the gaps. The template also includes some additional
required information for submission.

G. Health and Safety protocols. Given the rising covid19 cases, it is a must for every division
to have a clearly laid out mechanisms for health and safety protocols in their respective
schools in protecting DepEd personnel particularly teachers during the dry runs, actual
distribution and retrieval of SLMs and other related activities.

Instruction: Each SDO shall categorize their readiness status in two categories described
below:

Advanced Progressing
SDOs with clear health and safety protocols SDOs have yet to issue Division
in place issued through a detailed Division Memorandum on health and safety protocols
Memorandum.
SDO issued the following memorandum:
DO s2020 014 DepEd Required Health Standards

SDO also issued memoranda on training for

mental health and psychosocial support
(Unnumbered memo dated May 6, 2020) and
remote psychological first aid (Unnumbered
Memo dated June 03, 2020). SDO also launched
Project UPLIFT (Uplifting People through
Leadership and Inspiration thru Flexible
Technologies) via Division Memo No. 65 s. 2020 to
support mental and overall well-being of
personnel in the time of pandemic.
H. Overall SDO Assessment. The Schools Division Superintendent should be able to provide an
indication of the overall readiness of their respective Division.

Based on the foregoing indicators, SDO Navotas is VERY MUCH PREPARED in terms of
readiness this school-year 2020-2021.

With the lifting of the MECQ status and the deferment of the opening of classes to October 05,
2020, SDO Navotas will be able to intensify its preparations while ensuring adherence to set
health standards and safety protocols.

I. Other important Information worth sharing to Central Office, Oversight Agencies and the
general public.

After conducting the division-wide simulation of distance learning to all 21 public elementary
and secondary schools from August 3-7, 2020, SDO Navotas will hold a debriefing conference
to identify gaps and further improve the processes, protocols and practices in distance
learning delivery.

Prior to this, SDO Navotas was part of the national simulation team that implemented the Pilot
Dry-Run of Distance Learning to three schools from June 30-July 3, 2020. Last August 12, 2020,
SDO Navotas shared in DepEd's Research O'clock the household support interventions that
were developed by the division itself and its schools to guide, assist and help parents,
guardians and learners to navigate in the new normal system of basic education in the city.

SDO Navotas was also able to train its 461 volunteer tutors under Project TLC or Tutor a
Learning Child, a joint initiative of Cong. John Rey Tiangco and DepEd Navotas. On September
10-11, a division general orientation on the operationalization of distance learning for teachers
will be undertaken to deepen teachers knowledge and skills on effective curriculum delivery
via modified modular distance education.
