Direct bribery

Any public officer who shall agree to perform an act constituting a crime, in connection with the
performance of this official duties, in consideration of any offer, promise, gift or present received by
such officer, personally or through the mediation of another.

Example:

A public officer agreed to perform an act that has connection with his duty in exchange of a gift.

Indirect bribery

It is not necessary that the officer should do any particular act or even promise to do an act, as it is
enough that he accepts gifts offered to him by reason of his office.

Example:

An officer receives a gift from someone because of his position.
