Identify the different product levels of the mobile phone you are using.

You need to give a

detail explanation of these levels you identified with examples.

No matter how well costs are driven or held down, no product can be profitable unless it sells.
Therefore all products must satisfy customer needs and wants. As all customers are different and
seek different benefits from products, businesses would ideally tailor their products to satisfy
each customer's wants and needs
Levels of Product or Service means that with the increase of the level, the value increases related
to the product of our interest. Philip Kotler proposed five product levels. For Phone these are no
different.
Core product: The very basics for which a product is purchased. It is the main functionality of a
product without which the product has no value. For example, the core product in a mobile
phone is the ease of communication. If we cannot call, the phone has no value. Without proper
functioning of this level, anything you add beyond this level doesn’t give you any more value.
Generic product: A version of the product containing only those attributes or characteristics
absolutely necessary for it to function. This is a basic version of a product made up of only those
features necessary for its function. For a phone it could be apps like- alarm, organizer, calculator,
calendar etc

Expected product: The very good features that are expected in a product. Expected Product
modifies the Basic Product. These product is the set of features that the customers expect when
they buy the product. For example, the customer expects that the phone should work properly
and has a good built-in quality, good camera, selfie camera, and internet. The greater a company
meets the expected product level, the sustainable brand a company can create.

Augmented Product: The very amazing features that exceed the customer expectation totally.
Only the leading brands in an industry can do this. For example, Apple’s itunes, Apple’s A14
bionic chip, Samsung brings completely new features on the phone that any brand couldn’t bring
earlier, VIVO’s first full screen display with pop up selfie camera, Apple’s LIDAR technology
etc. these augmented products are Flagships most of the time. Recently Zte announces world’s
first phone with an under display selfie camera. The companies invest huge bucks in R&D for
maintaining the augmented product level.

Potential Product: the very futuristic concept of an existing product. The potential product
includes all augmentations and transformations the product might under go in the future. For
example, Samsung’s galaxy Folding phone. Transforming services also can be an example of
potential product. Like- mobile app lock-unlock, ordering, or room service system, Uber, Airbnb,
pathao etc.
