This weekend is HOPE Appeal Weekend! Please check out
this newly minted video that outlines all of the ways HOPE
Appeal dollars directly support local ministries, programs, and

Together, when we pledge our gift to the Annual HOPE
Appeal, we are giving thanks to Christ for the innumerable
gifts we’ve been given and helping our friends and neighbors
who benefit each year from the diocesan good works funded
through our annual appeal.
I am humbly asking all parishioners to contribute to this
year’s HOPE Appeal. If we all give, we will easily meet our
2020 HOPE Appeal goal, which is our parish share of the
support for HOPE Appeal-funded ministries, programs, and
services. If we exceed our 2020 Hope Appeal Goal, 100
percent of the excess will be returned directly to our
parish. Typically, we only keep 50% of the excess, but this
year the Diocese wants each parish to keep any amount
collected in excess of their 2020 Parish Hope Appeal Goal. We
plan to use these funds to assist locally with our routine
Buildings & Grounds expenses for all four parishes. However,
if we do not meet this goal, the shortfall will have to be taken
from our general fund.
In an effort to meet our goal, I am asking every family in the
parish to consider a minimum gift of $95.00 (averages out to
$0.26 a day or $7.92 a month). If you are able to contribute
more, I strongly encourage you to do so. If you are not able to
make the minimum gift, please give something. Your gift, no
matter the size, whether it is a pledge or a one-time gift, is
important.
Thank you to everyone returning their HOPE Appeal pledge
card this weekend! If you are still prayerfully considering your
HOPE pledge, you may bring your completed pledge card to
Mass next weekend or drop it by the parish office. You may
also pledge your gift to our parish’s campaign online
at https://syracusediocese.org/foundation/hopeappeal/. No that
it is a competition, but it would be awesome if our new PCA
could accomplish this goal in record time to tell other parishes
that we are a force to be reckoned with in our diocese! St.
Joan of Arc, St. Bernard, St. Mary, and St. Joseph, pray for us!

The Church is Open!
St. Mary’s and St. Bernard’s churches will be open every
day from 8AM until 8PM, Monday through Friday for
private prayer and devotion. St. Joan of Arc also has a 24/7
Adoration Chapel. Feel free to stop by anytime to make a
visit to the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament!
All-PCA Pastoral Council Meeting
Our next All-PCA Pastoral Council meeting will take place
on Tuesday, October 6 at 7pm at St. Joan of Arc in
Morrisville. The Council will meet in the church.
PCA “BVM Club”
The public recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be
made available to each campus on a monthly basis. The
recitation of the Rosary will take place every Saturday at
9:00am on a rotating basis: 1st Saturday will be at St.
Joan’s; 2nd Saturday will be at St. Bernard’s; 3rd Saturday
will be at St. Mary’s; 4th Saturday will be at St. Joseph’s.
Please join us for our first BVM Club meeting this
Saturday, October 3 at 9am St. Joan of Arc in Morrisville.

New PCA-wide Adult Faith Formation Series! -
Father Hage will be leading a study on the most recently
published document from the Congregation for the Clergy
titled, “The pastoral conversion of the Parish community in
the service of the evangelizing mission of the Church.” This
four-week study will take place during the month of
October every Wednesday at 7:00pm in St. Bernard’s
Church. Everyone will be seated safely six feet apart and
with masks on. The series will also be live-streamed for
those who would like to participate from home. This will be
a great opportunity for our four parishes to come together
and begin to dream out loud about what we can build
together as a PCA!
PCA Update on Weekly Confessions
Father Hage will be hearing confessions this Tuesday,
October 6 from 5:30pm until 6:30pm at St. Joan of Arc in
Morrisville. Confessions will now be made available to
each campus on a monthly basis. The opportunity to
celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation will take place
every Tuesday from 5:30pm until 6:30pm on a rotating
basis: 1st Tuesday will be at St. Joan’s; 2nd Tuesday will be
at St. Bernard’s; 3rd Tuesday will be at St. Mary’s; 4th
Tuesday will be at St. Joseph’s. Now all four campuses will
have equal opportunity to celebrate this great sacrament of
mercy.
PCA Update on Holy Hours
This week’s PCA Holy Hour will take place at St. Joan of Arc
in Morrisville at 5:30pm. These PCA Holy Hours will involve
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Evening Prayer, the
opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and
Solemn Benediction will be made available to each campus on
a monthly basis. These Holy Hours will take place every
Tuesday at 5:30pm on a rotating basis: 1st Tuesday will be at
St. Joan’s; 2nd Tuesday will be at St. Bernard’s; 3rd Tuesday
will be at St. Mary’s; 4th Tuesday will be at St. Joseph’s.
Faith Formation Registration
Families with children in the Faith Formation program,
grades Pre K through High School, are asked to Register for
Faith Formation classes using the following link.

the diocese needs statistical information for our programs.
Information on classes will be forthcoming. Thank you for
your patience. Registration fees for this year will be
waived.
CROP Walk Service Project
Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 18th! The annual
CROP Walk to help stomp out hunger will be held virtually
this year. That means you can walk with your family, walk by
yourself, or walk social distancing with friends or
neighbors. You pick how you want to participate in the service

November 2 is All Soul’s Day
All parishioners in our PCA and their loved ones who have
died during the past year will be prayed for in a special way on
All Souls Day this year. If you have lost a loved one in the past
year and you would like them to be remembered on All Souls
Day, please send their name along with your own to Susanne
at stmaryshamilton@syrdio.org or 315-824-2164. Thank you.
Clarification about PCA Masses, Parish Membership,
and Envelopes:
All parishioners in our PCA are welcome to attend any one of
the Masses throughout the PCA on any campus throughout the
weekend. All four campuses now belong to one faith
community, so all four campuses are at your disposal for their
Masses and any other parish offerings as well. There will be a
pre-registration link made available to all four parishes every
Monday, so you can click the Mass time you would like to
attend on any campus and reserve a spot. If you are attending
Mass on another campus, there is no need to change parish
membership. You can simply bring your home parish’s
envelope to the Mass of your choice, drop your envelope in the
collection basket, and your envelope will make its way back to
your home parish. Also, if you do not have internet, you can
pre-register for Masses by calling any one of the parish offices,
and the secretaries from each parish will fill in the online
registration form on your behalf. Please pre-register for
Masses before 1pm on Thursday of each week.

Thursday, October 15 at 7pm at St. Bernard’s in Waterville.
