Subject: REQUEST TO TRANSFER

Dear Ma’am Gamutin:

Greetings of peace.

I am Abigail O. Diamante, Teacher I assigned at Kingking Central Elementary School SPED

Center, Kingking, Pantukan, Davao de Oro. I have been employed in that school since 2015, for
almost five (5) years now, I am the eldest among my siblings and is expected to look over the
welfare of my parents since both my siblings are in the Davao City to continue their studies. The
distance from my workstation is far from our residence, with this, I find it hard to attend to the
needs of my parents.

It is stipulated in Section 1 of Republic Act 8190, that “In the appointment or assignment of
teachers to public elementary or secondary schools, priority shall be given to bona fide residents
of the barangay, municipality, city or province where the school is located: Provided, That the
teacher possesses all the minimum qualifications for the position as required by law”. This Act
grants priority to residents of the barangay, municipality, or city where the school is located. In
addition, as I am able to render at least five (5) years in the school where I was assigned, I am now
considered eligible for the transfer of station as stipulated in the Department Order No. 22, s.2013,
“The teacher has served for more than five years outside his/her home barangay/municipality”.

In this connection, I find it more indispensable to tender this request letter for me to be transferred
in the Municipality wherein I can proximately fulfill the needs of my aging parent.

It is my fervent hope that this humble request be given immediate and affirmative response. And I
would take this favor emphatically for a lifetime.

Thank you very much.

Very respectfully yours,

ABIGAIL O. DIAMANTE
Teacher I
