Mafias

The Mafia regulated everything from drug trafficking in the street corner to the highest government
rates. Glorified by films and television, hounded by law enforcement officers, marked by their enemies
for death, mobsters lead aggressive, mostly brief lives. There's one thing about the Mafia at its heart-
money. Now, there are secret traditions, intricate rules and family loyalty. ( Drug trafficking is a global
illicit trade involving the cultivation, manufacture, distribution and sale of substances which are subject
to drug prohibition laws). ( A mobster is a bad guy who's involved in organized crime or belongs to a
gang).

The Mafia Is not a single group or gang. It is comprised of many families who sometimes fought each
other in vicious, violent gang wars. ( feuding between two gangs majoring in either social politics or
business disputes)

The Mafia is not an actual organization itself. Alternatively there is no head of the Mafia. Instead, the
word Mafia is an umbrella term that refers to any of several groups of gangsters who can trace their
roots to Italy or Sicily. ( A large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea, off the south-western tip of Italy;
capital, Palermo).
