The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is popularly called as IBPS. It


was formed to solve the major problem of the banks, i.e. selecting the right
people for the right jobs. It is created to provide assistance to the different
organisations in the regions of recruitment, selection, placement,
assessment tests, certification projects, analysing centre projects, group
excises, and projects where only registration of applications was done.
IBPS designed a written exam which is known as Common Written
Examination (CWE) for recruiting Clerks and officers and clerks in regional
rural banks and public sector banks.
