Worksheet Objectives:
1. Identify an organization and situation you want to study over the remainder of the course.
2. Describe the organization and the situation

Complete the following making sure to support your ideas and cite from the textbook and other
course materials per APA guidelines. After the peer review, you have a chance to update this and
format for your Electronic Portfolio due in Module 6.

1) Name and describe your organization.

The organization I work for is California Resources Corporation, which is one of the
largest oil and gas operations in California.

2) Describe your role in the organization (it can be an internal or external role).

My role in my organization is production operations, which is an internal role. I provide

leadership and guidance amongst my team. As well as indirectedly oversee and guide the
activity of our contract workers, while communicating closely with lease operators, other
management and engineers.

3) Describe the situation, including information you think the will help the reader
understand the most important elements of the situation. (This will require
selectivity: part of the art of case writing is separating the essential facts from the
mass of information that might be included)

One specific situation that has negaviley impacted my organization has been the COVID-
19 pandemic. In short, the pandemic disrupted not only the financial stability of our
organization but also how we work on a daily basis. This was partially caused by the
country’s economic shut-down. Due to people not driving to and from work, planes being
grouneded, and cross-country truck drivers being limited to transporting goods across
state lines. Due to COVID-19, we can not longer have face to face meetings, we utilize
zoom. Not having morning meetings has decreased the collaboration, knowledge sharing,
and moral within our organization. The pandemic has changed when and where we work;
we either work from home or in the field inside our vehicles with our laptops.
