Rizal is a Deserving National Hero

A national hero is a person recognized for his or her role in the history moreover, history
is incomplete without the presence someone who makes its notable and valued over years. He or
she also made significant positive contributions to the growth and development of society, and
represents all of us.Growing up I used to heard and see books, images, literatures, songs, and
symbolisms of Jose Rizal when the topic is Philippine’s history. Ever since I was young, Jose
Rizal as the national hero was inculcated to my mind and even whom I ask they will always say
Jose Rizal instantly. Until later on, questions and notions arises that Rizal does not deserve to be
a national hero.

Jose Rizal deserves to be our national hero because of the following reasons. First, Even
Jose Rizal, considered as the greatest among the Filipino heroes, was not explicitly proclaimed as
a national hero but this shall not discredit his contributions to the history of having our freedom
from spaniards. Second, Rizal fought for freedom in a secretive and peaceful but powerful way.
He also dedicated his talents and love for the country into writing novels, essays and articles to
wake the minds of his countrymen rather than using forces and aggression. Third, he instilled the
sense of nationalism among the citizens who are oppressed by spanish rules with his writings and
the execution of him inspired many Filipinos to revolt against Spain. Lastly, he was a marytr
who stood for his beliefs that gives importance for equality of rights. He was a hero who fought
not only for his family but more of his countrymen, for all of us through his mighty pen of ideas
and intelligence.

Indeed, Jose Rizal is a national hero by his unique way and ideas. He made me to say that
“Powerful words cuts deeper than actions” where in fact it impacted many Filipinos during his
time and up until today in which his works bring us to the past. And I strongly believe that a hero
is defined as or symbolizes goodness for his people whatever way it is. Rizal gave us freedom
using his goodness. So anyone can be a hero in different forms ,ways and in time with his
goodness in heart and deeds.
